Notts County's Youngest Ever Player: Kameron Muir Breaks 25-Year-Old Record

He looks like a talented lad. I think it’s good that Notts didn’t throw him straight into the game but used his time on the pitch well. It gives us something to hope for, as we have seen many young players come and go. But I don’t know, James Sanderson, Riley Reynolds, and Kameron Muir have something special about them. I hope they continue to flourish, but what an honour for Muir to have.

When I looked at the two squads, I thought Burton would have been more in control of the game. Listening to the match on the radio, it sounded like our squad was up against it at times. You see the number of young players starting, and you can see this is their chance to show what they can do. I am delighted for all five of the academy players, but for Kameron Muir to make his senior debut at the age of 15 and become the youngest Notts player ever, that is special. I hope they can take this performance and use it to get more opportunities in the first team in the future.

i think the efl trophy is a great time to include young players, it gives us fans something to actually be encouraged by because i dont find the competition has ever really been taken seriously. i think notts does, but from the fans perspective it could be a lot better. i am please kameron muir got to come on and has become our youngest player, as i say, it gives you something to be invested with.

His parents & family will be immensely proud of him, & that was a day they will all never forget.

Fantastic to see another Academy graduate breaking records. I remember when Pennant set the record, and now it's been broken again. Kameron seems like a humble lad, and I can’t wait to see more of him in the future.

To have the right guidance and mentorship at that age is crucial, and it’s obvious that Jake Henry and his team have done wonders with him. What stood out to me was Kameron’s calmness throughout the whole experience. For a lad that young to take it all in stride is impressive. With the injury worries we have, I hope this performance gives a chance to some of the youngsters like Riley Reynolds. It’s great that Kameron Muir came on as the youngest player, but I hope it means more of our homegrown talent will get chances in league games in the future.

This is great to see. It’s pleasing when a youngster comes in and not only does well but earns a start. This should show how the club views Kameron Muir as a player. To give him a start at his age is a dream for Muir, and he comes across very well. If he can continue to get minutes, that will be great. I think it’s exciting to see, but we need to make it count for something.

While it does highlight the good work the academy does, it’s all down to Kameron Muir. I’m sure the coaching and other support have helped, but it’s his attitude to take it on and improve.

I would be very disappointed if the club didn’t push him, much like many other graduates.
