#Notts fixture list

Featured Replies

Maidenhead at home is one of the easiest fixtures IMO. The rest of August is quite tricky. Boreham Wood away is always difficult. Gateshead away won't be easy. They'll be well up for that game. Chesterfield at home, Halifax away and Solihull at home are tough.

We visit Dorking Wanderers in September. That will be a cup final for them! Oldham at home on Boxing Day and away on New Year's Day. I personally love that. 2 big clubs going head to head. We finish with a home game against York. Hopefully we'll be celebrating promotion!

Tough start for the new manager! You can almost sense the doom-mongers will already be sharpening their knives in readiness. Added pressure to get off to a good start and it's probably not what LW wanted. I also like the idea of back to back games against Oldham, more fixtures should be made like this!

It's nice to see the last game being at home, I think the York City match could be one of those we'll be really up for.

As for the start, I feel it's our best chance to start the season well. We've been a bit slow in recent years with spells of consistency, but this could be largely different. I know the pre-season is all about match fitness and, trying things out, but I am a firm believer that a good pre-season can impact the start of a new campaign. I am hopeful this will be the case, as if we can build that magic of being right up at the top, who knows if this could be our season.

There's a lot of unknowns though, especially with a new head coach who will be learning the ropes as he goes. Early signs seem promising but setbacks, injuries, other matters out of our control could impact it.

I am excited about the new season.

Fixture lists can be deceptive - you don't really know what the "easy" and "hard" games will be before the season starts. On paper, Maidenhead at home looks like a game we should be winning, and Boreham Wood, Solihull and Gateshead (with the wind under their sails) all look tricky. But football isn't played on paper! Just hope we can get off to a good start and let the momentum build.
