Notts County In Talks To Extend Callum Mcgregor And Jack Grealish's Loans

Notts County in talks to extend Callum McGregor and Jack Grealish's loans

<!--url{0}-->Notts County boss Shaun Derry is hopeful of agreeing new loan deals to keep Callum McGregor and Jack Grealish at Meadow Lane.

McGregor, who is on loan from Celtic, and Aston Villa youngster Grealish have both impressed at County and scored in their New Year's Day win over Bradford City.

The victory over Bradford was the final game of McGregor's loan from Celtic, while Grealish's short-term deal expires on January 13th.

A number of other clubs are thought to be keen on taking the pair on loan, but Derry has revealed they are in talks about keeping them at Meadow Lane.

"We're getting close on both now," said Derry.

"Discussions have taken place, everybody knows where everyone stands and it's now up to a final decision from their clubs.

"They are enjoying their football. We've had this conversation two or three times.

"When you're a young player and you're enjoying your football and developing I can't see the importance of moving.

"I feel they are both at a good place, they are both absolutely adored by the fans as well as the players and staff and that's important for a young player."

Will we see McGregor back at the lane? Grealish is the one I'd put money on retuning.

I knew there was something in BBC removing him from our info.

This doesn't really tell us anything new though does it, we know they are in talks and we know that Derry is keen to keep them both.

I won't get too excited until I know it's a done deal.

Not yet, though it does tell us McGregor perhaps played his last game for us.

Sadly not a lot to go but I was not aware McGregors spell was finished.

I didn't know he had finished his loan with us until i found this. Other than that... theres no proper news until we get confirmation that a new deal is made. I will keep an eye out for any news on this.
