@Chris. I couldn't get on for about 10 minutes, but it seems ok now.

It can differ per user, but 10 minutes does sound about right for some use cases.

@Chris I used to be able to post pictures but when I do now it says they are too big, nothings changed at my end so I assume you’ve made some alteration to picture sizes.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words so it’s a shame I can’t post them now, it’s too much of a faff to edit them to change the size.

I haven't changed anything, the software should reduce the image to fit. Are you sure it's not the file size? I would strongly encourage you to use IMGURL.

If a file size is an issue, if it's not memory size - I will investigate why it's happening.

IMG.DOERIG.DEV

Thie link above is safe, IMGURL removed the ability to upload without using their app, so a dev created this handy URL which allows you to upload, and click "copy" to get the image URL. Just paste that in. ;)

Call me idle but as I say it’s a bit of a faff rather than how I used to just click “choose file” and it would immediately bring the picture into the post. Not to worry I’ll just use words to paint a picture.

This is the message I get.

IMG_0214.jpeg
Ironically it let me post that. 😂

@Fan of Big Tone do you have any apps that can reduce the resolution of the image?

i wonder if its due to your other group setting @Chris?

A software patch has caused some issues with the cache system PON uses, so Redis has been disabled. This is being looked into, but please be advised that the site might go down due to this technical issue as we try to resolve it.

@Fan of Big Tone: I think you should be good to go now.

I'll need to spend some time checking all the group settings, but it seems to glance that Liam is correct. Please, let m know.

This issue has been fixed, the cache system is on. 👍

It's potentially a bug. I'll speak with support but if you don't hear back soon. Just know, I haven't forgotten, and I will get to the bottom of the issue.

Noticed from this morning that some replies to my threads the letters of words are continuing into the next line.

Wonder if it is just on phones or on PCs and phones. Has anyone else noticed that?

It might be a formatting issue. I’ll try to see if I can spot anything and let the gaffer know you mentioned it, @Robbie.

Here's an example on the man of the match thread

its weird, i have edited a lot of comments that looked oddly formatted in the post screen when saved, but when i clicked to edit, they all looked fine. i have copied them and pasted back in, then saved. its fine then, i did not edit anything and to be honest it would take forever to notify everyone but i will fix what I see.

it might be better to stick an announcement about it.

@Chris

Once I get to the bottom of it, I will post an announcement about it.

It does seem to be a formatting bug, I haven't seen any whilst using my laptop so far - so it could be isolated to mobiles. This matter isn't related to CSS. Possible another issue with the last patch. 😕

i hope its not hard to figure out why its happening, because i have noticed it even with members like @Joshua. i dont think its the members, it must be something related to the last patch.

I reported a thread that I thought was in the wrong forum by pressing the report button & explaining why in the report several days ago, but have not yet had a reply.

I've used the report function a few times over the time I've been on PON, but have never received feedback. Still wondering if the report function is working or not

I do believe team members get notifications, and that emails are sent. I see the report.

I'll need to make sure I explain to the team we should be checking this area more often, as it is easy to overlook. The issue I find with notifications is that I get a fair amount, and then it becomes like a needle in a haystack. I'm also quite e-mail blind, and by this I check so many accounts that I do acknowledge I miss some. I'll be sure to find a way to make it easier for me to notice important emails.

Thanks for mentioning this, @Robbie.

Back in the day, when something was reported you would get a notification which would take you to the report back of the issue/concerned raised. I just checked, and it seems like the goal post has moved, or I need to check the settings.

If responses aren't sent any more, I will ask team members to respond here if it's a public decision or privately if it requites being discreet.

As for the topic about Scottish football which mentions BREXIT in the title, I think it's better where it is but note it could turn more political which will be reviewed at that stage. For now, I am happy enough that it falls within the correct forum.

I will investigate the feedback on the report system. Have you ever heard back, @Robbie?

Hi Chris, I reported the issue once again earlier on this evening, and have just received a message back. So it seems to be working now.

I messaged you about your reported post tonight @Robbie I think @Chris was referring to an automatic response.

I do think mods should message personally about a decision regarding a reported post.

Yes, I was under the impression that that's why we're able to give feedback.

So, there seems to be a setting or bug issue. I have asked a friend well more reversed in the settings, I go back to using this software when it was alpha of the first version. However, I openly admit the ACP changes so much over the years I haven't really kept with it. Permissions has always been a bug bear though, as there are several areas and other forum solutions do seem to keep them in one logical area. You have user permissions, moderation permissions, group permissions etc.

Some features have their own, which isn't very organised, but I will look into it.

@Chris @Fan of Big Tone I thought originally that a pop up message similar to when a mod modified either the name of a thread or puts a thread in another forum that was placed in the wrong forum, would come up in a reply to a reported post. Wouldn't that be easier?
