Crikey! Poor old Charlie but thank goodness he’s ok now, excellent advice about getting your eyes checked regularly, the optician can see a lot of potential health problems when they look in your eyes, not only eye problems.

My old mam had glaucoma and lost most of her sight, she’s sadly no longer with us but she always told me to look after my eyes I’m happy to follow that advice.

I had my eyes examined at the QMC about 6–7 years ago, after I was assaulted picking Jake up from school. My vision appeared like a black and white TV struggling to get a picture, it was very unnerving. No damage was found, but it was a weird experience.

I am pleased that Charlie Slater has had a successful operation which has saved his eyesight in his right eye.

Hopefully, he will be fine from here on.

@Fan of Big Tone It wasn't much joy, especially how the QMC inspect your eyes. I ended up with a pretty bad migraine after, but I was thankful they said there was no damage. Poor Kate had all three children and me to look after. It's not an experience I would like to relive.

Get your eyes checked folks, it's not pleasant, but it's worth it to know things are okay.

Yes mate that’s happened to me three times. I’ve still got lots of holes in both eyes but they don’t really affect your sight much but the detached retina can make you blind. When Charlie posted that I asked him if he’d had a D.R. as it sounded like it with how he’d described it. It’s not the best thing to get repaired either. Having someone cut your eyeball open with a knife while you’re awake is not pleasant especially after they’ve already injected your eye to try and make it numb for the cut!

Many moons ago, I had an emergency procedure at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, where they had to look behind the eyeball. Worse than any horror movie when one eye can actually see the other eye "out of sync".

The worst I’ve had is a PVD Posterior Vitreous Detachment which is when the gell in your eye starts to break up, I had flashing zigzag lines for a while which was quite worrying, apparently it’s quite common as you get older and normally needs no treatment but it does leave you with floaters (little black blobs that float around your sight). It isn’t as serious as a detached retina thankfully.

I also watch a YouTube channel also, which covers celebrity drama such as the Johnny Depp vs Amber 💩.

It's called Popcorned Planet, the host Andy Signore had an operation on his left eye.

I'm not into all this Hollywood style gossip, but Andy and the team do a fantastic job of reporting actual facts.

Going off-topic, I felt very sorry for Johnny Depp as I in no way believed Amber Turd. It was clear that she was lying and causing Johnny problems. People like her get believed and away with murder, so it's nice that Popcorned Planet held her accountable whilst being fair to both parties.

Indeed, it’s crucial to have your eyes examined regularly. This is important advice that shouldn’t be overlooked.

I haven't had any issues with my eyes, so I'm thankful for that. I'm a bit squeamish when it comes to things close to my eyes, but I get them checked every two to three years. It's great to see so many positive stories about members who have had successful operations. It seems that eye specialists have made great progress since the millennium.

Yes mate. I’ve still got lots of holes in my eyes and I’m at a high risk of it happening again with having diabetes but fingers crossed it doesn’t happen again. Still get lots of floaters especially when I’m tired which is usually after a match!
