The Document is less than an improvement plan, but more like trying to bully PL clubs into rejecting Wolves motion to scrap VAR, for example:-

Up to Hundred more wrong decisions if VAR scrapped.

The PL are contractually obligated to keep significant operating cost elements of VAR for another three years.

Our domestic Referees could be barred from officiating in Europe if clubs vote to ban VAR here according to the PL.

The PL are putting lots of pressure on PL clubs to reject Wolverhampton Wanderers motion to scrap VAR. 

Looks like the PL will succeed unfortunately.

Update. Premier League Clubs have voted in favour of continuing with VAR.

 

 

I think the Reason for Var is, the Premier League and F.A. want a Prem Game to last as long as American Football matches ( they can take up to four hours)

Let's hope that  if somebody at the F.A comes up with the idea of  Having VAR through out all Leagues. If it's ever proposed, the EFL should Dismiss it instantly.

It was interesting that Wolves were the only team who voted to discontinue VAR. Nineteen PL clubs voted to keep it, including Forest who were moaning constantly about it all season.

Looks like the Clubs all fell into line with nothing more than a wimper, and decided not to upset the apple cart.

Like you say NO Backbone (well all except Wolves) makes you Wonder What Sort Of Hold The Premier League Has Over It's Members?

Even the Red Dogs across the Trent have caved in and are Towing the PL Line. Daft  is it Not?

@Wheelbarrow repair man I know we've talked about this subject a lot but something new always crops up like this decision today.

And, don't be surprised if this decision today was linked to the fact that Man City are suing the PL.

There is talk about Man City looking to bring back the Euro Super League back on the agenda if they lose this case.

Lots of politicing going off at the moment. I think the clubs, other than Man City, are trying to demonstrate that they have solidarity with the PL as the PL fights this case.

 

Made me laugh that Forest spend all season moaning about VAR decisions and the vote in favour of keeping it. 

We had the first big VAR controversy in EURO 24 in a group match between Netherlands and France last night when the Netherlands had a goal disallowed because, the Netherlands player, who was clearly in an offside position, was deemed to have interfered with the French goalkeeper trying to make a save from a shot by a Netherlands player.

The controversy was because there was disagreement whether the Netherlands player was actually interfering with the movement of the French goalkeeper or not.

All the pundits at the BBC post match analysis thought that a goal should have been awarded because the player didn't appear on the replays to be close enough to be interfering with the French goalkeeper's movement.

The other controversy was the time it took the British VAR Referee's assistant to make the decision. It was about four minutes.

The point to all of this, if there had been no VAR, the Linesman would have put his flag up for offside, the online Ref would have made an instant decision, and that would have been the end of it. 

But with VAR, the goal is scored, the team and crowd celebrate, then the Linesman put the flag up then it goes to VAR.

Then VAR analyse it but there is no information or what the VAR team & the Ref are discussing for the players or the spectators.

That is the reason most critics like myself dislike VAR. Players & fans celebrate a goal, then 4 minutes later it is ruled out and players and spectators don't know why. This is not what football is all about.

Also, Ref's should have a microphone connected to the PA system so that players and spectators can be kept in the loop regarding contentious decisions.

VAR disallowed a Lukaku goal due to this fine margin, a toe end.

Is this decision to disallow the Lukaku goal the right decision or is it the wrong decision?

I think the decision to call offside is wrong because the naked eye could never determine whether Lukaku was offside or not.

And that is just the point. The offside law was never meant to be judged in this way by freezing frames like this.

It was meant to be judged by the naked eye of a linesman in true time.
