The Nest, 1924

Notts had a ground known as The Nest? If that’s the case, I must admit, I wasn’t aware of this either. I thought I was familiar with all the grounds where Notts has played. Could it be possible that he's referring to Park Hollow?

No, it was one of Crystal Palace's old grounds. Norwich also played at a ground called The Nest before they moved to Carrow Road - there are plenty of pictures online, it looks pretty crazy.Β

At first, I made the same mistake, interpreting β€œtheir” as referring to Notts. I was puzzled as to why Crystal Palace, known as the Eagles, might have had a ground called The Nest. I had the impression that they resided in a nest known as an Eyrie.
