After British success in the Olympic games a few weeks ago, attention now turns to the Paris Paralympic Games.

Team GB has had lots of success at past Paralympics & hopefully in Paris the team can do well again.

There are 169 nations competing including a refugee team & a neutral NPA team.

The games will include 549 events over 22 sports. Closing ceremony will be on the 8th September.

This will be the thread to find  news of British successes & to discuss them too.

The opening ceremony begins tonight.

I wish Team GB all the best. They are inspiring and show that you can achieve great things even with a disability.

Is this the talented 14-year-old? It’s a fantastic start for Team GB.

Definitely, @Robbie. They have both done really well, but I am very impressed with her spirited performance at such a young age. She is a talent that will only grow, so well done to her!

I saw parts of the table tennis game, I thought both of the team GB girls did incredibly well. At one point, I thought they were going to win the game. China really does drill sports into their athletes, and it was nice to see the respect shown to both sets of players.

The interview with the girls after was a nice moment.

I have not been watching, but I have seen the news and I am pleased for Team GB. I agree with the comments about how it is inspiring to see such a good turnout and results in terms of medals won.
