This is a great chance for our women's team to show the fans in Nottingham that Notts has a very good women's team. Forest should be a tough challenge, but I believe in an upset.

Great performance by Notts in the first half to hold Forest to 0:0 at half time.

Forest Women have gone professional for this season.

Half Time.

Notts women battled gamely but were hit by 6 second half goals from a very good Forest side that are firm favourites to get promoted to the Championship this season.

Notts holding Forest to 0:0 at half time is very encouraging for the rest of the season.

Final Score.

its a positive to be drawing at half time, the gulf between us and them is big. nothing to be that down about, our players tried and thats all we can ask.

@liampie

If Notts Women can improve from last season and finish mid table this time around, that would be a very positive outcome.

they just need to keep building and not before long, they will climb the leagues. i am pleased we have a womens team that is fully ours and is growing organically.

Bad luck to the women's team. You can't complain about the final result. I'm sure they did their best. The Forest women's team has a lot of money

Seems like they were doing well until half time but as has been said the gulf between the two sides is enormous and the ladies shouldn’t be too despondent.

Last words from Manager Adam Dunleavy after the Cup Match.

He couldn't be more proud of the Notts players for their effort against a very good team.

Fitness can be a big part of football, and the level you play can be a big part in that working when the games reach those higher minutes. When you face a team that has a good level of stamina and ability, you will naturally start to give them more space, then more time on the ball and becomes a matter of trying to defend. I don't think it's a bad result, I am also pleased by the goalless score at half-time.

There's a gap between us and Forest; our women's team should feel encouraged and not downhearted.

I feel a bit bad that I am struggling to cover them, but I will get there once I have my system in place. They deserve as much help with promoting them as a club, and I am proud we have a women's team that is coming from the grass roots.
