Good morning, happy Monday everyone, not so happy if you’re going back to work/school/college after the weekend. I feel for you as I lie in bed sipping my coffee. :joker:

It was nice to see our son, DIL and grandkids yesterday they came so we could plan the food, drink shopping for Christmas, they are getting some stuff and we are getting some stuff, so the cost won’t fall solely on us.

It should be a good few days of family time, looking forward to it.

Whats happening in your life?

Good evening all, especially  @Fan of Big Tone  .Well I was awakened again this morning by the usual noises from next door. It was sporadic and didn't last too long thankfully.. Later in the day next door's landlord returned and unloaded about a dozen large panels ,several long planks and other assorted pieces of timber. I'm expecting an early(for me)wake up call again tomorrow morning. Earlier this evening I received a phone call from an old school mate who now lives in Cheshire, Very nice to reminisce and put the world to rights.

Raining here first thing but very mild. Had our last food delivery before Xmas. Anything else will go to the Superstore for.

Nothing else planned for the day, apart from making the dinner & hoovering around for the Mrs.

Might watch a few Xmas movies on the TV today. Plenty to choose from.

We’ve spent the day wrapping Christmas presents for the family, we don’t put the kids presents under the tree because they’ll just be poking at them, they are too old for Santa Clause but we’ll still hide them away until they are in bed Christmas Eve.

It’s been a bit cold today, we’ve had a walk to do some card deliveries locally, now relaxing at home.

My no alcohol regime officially finishes today, I’ve not had a drink since 2nd December and been eating smaller portions which has helped me lose over half a stone. Tonight I’ll have a pint of Old Peculier before my curry and a glass of wine with it. I’ll soon put that weight back on over Christmas but it’s better than piling it on top of the weight I was at the beginning of the month.

Pleased to report that I was wrong regarding work noise from next door. It's been relatively quiet. Long may it continue!

Good morning all it’s matchday today but not for Derby and @super_ram they played last night and I was watching it, with around 5 or 6 minutes to go I went to bed as Derby seemed to have it in the bag winning 1-0, I was astounded this morning to see they lost 2-1 . What happened Mr. Ram?

I won’t be at the match today as we’ve got tickets along with our son and family to go to a show at the observatory in Sutton in Ashfield, I’m not sure what it’s all about but I don’t say no to spending time with family, I’ll get home too late for the match but I’ll listen on the radio. I’ll let you know what the show was like later.

Have a great day everyone and COME ON YOU PIES!

One of them days @Fan of Big Tone. The ball wasn't on our side. That and game management. Very cruel. A Notts win today would lift my spirits

Well we have finally come to the shortest day and the winter solstice. It also happens to be the first day of winter, but Autumn was bad enough wasn't it

Had an early start this morning going to the superstore to get  some last minute goodies that the wife needed to get us over Xmas.

It's certainly a different atmosphere compared to last week post match. It's a nice feeling that Notts played so well this afternoon.

I'm so pleased for Stuart Maynard who has taken a lot of stick on social media this week. Him and the team had the perfect response today.

MK Dons got hammered today & we meet them on boxing day.

Morning all I trust we are all full of joy after the nice early Christmas present from Notts yesterday.

I was glad to wake up in the middle of a pretty nasty dream this morning, I hate dreams like that I’m so glad it wasn’t real.

Our trip to the observatory yesterday was a bit different, we were shown to a small cinema with seats that lie back and the screen covers the whole ceiling, the film was very weird with coloured lights and shapes wizzing round the screen set to a modern take of Gustav Holst’s Planet Suite. The second part was a wander through space and a talk about the planets and stars. This trip has apparently been recommended to grandson Fred by his teacher. We all thought it was a very different experience but good, it certainly got the kids talking.

Its going to be cold today so wrap up if you are going out to do last minute shopping.

Good morning Notts fans. What a difference a football match can make with such a positive result and the way it was done.

Weather outside doesn't match the mood. It's been raining all night. Flood alert for Mansfield in force too.

But it's nice & warm & cosey inside, so the plan is to take it easy & watch a few Xmas films with the wife today.
