McGoldrick out for rest of season

Featured Replies

Jatta suspended and David McGoldrick out, we really need to dig deep to advance further. Wimbledon away is quite doable if we can fill in the issue with who starts as the striker, but it's not without its challenge.

How unfortunate for Didzy to miss these important games, I hope he's okay and wish him a speedy recovery.

I'm looking forward to that one-year deal being officially announced. ;):DΒ

I wasn’t confident before I’m even less so now, so it looks like another season in league two, I hope Didzy recovers from his injury ok he must be gutted. I agree with @ChrisΒ he’s definitely worth another years contract.

He's going to get at least the offer, but I really hope the injury doesn't make him consider retirement. To be honest, I get the feeling he will extend his stay if we remain in League Two, whereas League One and the injury might put doubts in his mind where the scenario of him agreeing to a new deal might be less likely.

This season he has been amazing. His first year was good at the start and very lacklustre, but you can see how better players around him help.

I get on the one hand you announce this for us as fans but at the same time it seems a bit daft as now Wimbledon can plan and change their tactics knowing McGoldrick won’t play.

It's a massive blow though and to be fair we got more out of him than I imagined we would this season. We cannot go into next season and still be in the same situation where McGoldrick, if he stays, carries our main attacking threat though. He is class but if we want to continue to get the best out of him, we’ll need to manage his minutes better.
