Good morning, it’s a foggy start here first thing.

We had a bit of excitement yesterday when the Red Arrows flew directly over our house, they were on their way to EMA as part of their 60th birthday celebrations, we’d just fetched the cat back from the cattery and let her out on the garden when there was an almighty roar as they passed over quite low, it frightened the cat to death she flew off down the garden as if the devil was after her. 😂

Today it’s back to normal, shopping and washing to do and I must do something about my lawn it’s very weedy and full of clover, it needs some “weed and feed” I think.

I hope everyone is ok and has a great day.

Did somebody mention Dark Chocolate? I have a space on my goody shelf in the fridge.

Yesterday was our last day of a lovely quiet long weekend. Just finishing off by taking the boys for a wander, then back to reality.

Morning all, I’ve just started a new batch of home made wine off, this is a kit which makes Cabernet Sauvignon, hopefully it’ll be as good as the Pinot Grigio I made from the same brand kit which was excellent, we thought it was better than the box we normally get from Tesco.

I’m going to test it out on our son who’s a bit of a wine snob, I’ll let him do a blind taste test and see which he thinks is the Tesco or my home brew. laughing.gif

Good morning, happy Wednesday, the sun is shining. ☀️

We’ve got to take the cat to the vet today, that’ll be fun, as soon as she sees her pet carrier she’s off like a shot and we have to chase round the house to catch her. Ifwe manage to catch her the next job is to get her in the carrier, it’s a real battle. I’ll have to put all my armour on, gloves, long sleeves, thick impenetrable clothes etc., I’ve learnt from experience.

I hope that your cat is ok and it's just routine @Fan of Big Tone she sounds like one of my dogs whenever the wife wants to bath and clip him, he disappears and hides well out of her way.

Found that the washer had decided to pack up on us whilst we were away this weekend. So the highlight of my day is waiting in for him between 09:00 and 17:00. Happy days 😊

Thought for the day.

Consciously, enjoy every moment, remembering the tenderness of the past, the value of the present and the hope of the future.

🫠🖖

Greetings it’s been a cloudy but dry, warm day here. We’ve had a walk into the woods but we didn’t see any bears, we were servicing our late sons geocaches they still bring enjoyment to folks 13 years after his death, we’ll keep them going for as long as we can.

This afternoon I phoned my elder brother who has a birthday today, he’s 87 and still going strong, we were two hours on the phone, it was really nice to talk as we don’t see each other very often, he lives in Crawley which is a nightmare to get to.

I can relate to that BT. I'm as frightened of that pet carrier box as my cat is. I dread it! Last month she managed to jump on my chest and dug in tight, writing off one of my favourite t-shirts. It looked like I was a Dracula victim - a blind dracula that can't tell a chest from a neck.

Good morning one and all, lovely sunny looking day hear in the central belt. Washing in, fed the dogs and now enjoying a well earned cup of tea.

Great to hear @Fan of Big Tone having contact with your brother on his birthday, a super age to get to 87, belated happy birthday.

Nice one with the geocaches, I have friends who are regularly out and about looking for them.

As for @The Anti-Clough and dracula, it sounds more like Hulk Hogan has ripped your t shirt to pieces, god bless him.

Time to feed the fish and get some breakfast whilst enjoying being bathed in sunshine through the front door, and watching the birds enjoying their seeds etc from our feeders. Can't beat it with a big stick.

Thought for the day :-

May the sun's rays caress you and fill your heart with the joy and happiness you deserve.

Work’s done for the weekend, and I’ve already picked out my clothes for tomorrow. I’m going with a 2002 Juventus top, which I’d love to see Notts copy, it has a similar feel to our 2006 kit. Even though the season hasn’t started yet, it feels close. Maybe it’s just me, but with it being our first home match since last season ended, it feels like more than just a friendly.

I hope the atmosphere is spot on. That could really set the tone for the games to come.

No more school now until the new year, which is nice. It’s a bit of a shame though, as I won’t get to see a few of the teachers who are great at helping you learn.

I’m pleased with how things went. I’ve done well and got some of the highest marks, with over 98% attendance.

Good morning and happy Saturday, it’s a dull cloudy start here, after last nights curry I think I’d better do a park run to run some of it off, I’ve not done one for a while so I suspect I’ll have muscle aches the rest of the day and tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone and COME ON YOU PIES!

Dull and cloudy here also @Fan of Big Tone with a tinge of drizzle. Apparently it's all change as we move through the day, improving as the day unfolds. Match time will be perfect then, let's get behind the boys and give them a resounding welcome back to the Lane.

Come on you Pies 🥳

Long lie-in today, I just couldn't get out of bed. Putting on a podcast guarantees that I'll go back to sleep and so it worked.

Can't make it today, I have to go in the opposite direction and attend a gig. As with all pre-season games, I don't give a toss about the result but I suppose we need a decent showing or clear signs of it for the season opener. COYP

Overcast and dull here too.The sun keeps trying to break through the cloud but failing to at the moment.

The Rams are at Burton this afternoon playing in the final of the Bass Charity Vase. The Bass Charity Vase was founded in1889 in Burton upon Trent to raise money for medical and hospital charities.

Good luck against Cardiff.

every time i went to post to this i must have got distracted but not now. i enjoyed going to notts but i hated sitting in the pavis, its just soulless and no effort to get behind the lads early on was made. its strange, because some did try, so i am wrong about saying there was no effort i mean by the majority of fans. i also thought more would come, but the kop and js stands look smart with their safe standing areas.

there is other subtle changes which is nice, but i really did not enjoy being in the pavis. i respect that there is fans who do, i am not hating on it but i really missed the feeling the kop creates.

i did enjoy speaking to some new faces, and one of them said they were a member of pon but would not tell me their username. 🤣 so, if you are that member thank you for saying hello, it was nice to meet you. i am glad you find the site good, its nice to meet someone randomly who is involved.

So pleased for the positive result today. The difference in the team now & the playoff game against Wimbledon is the difference between chalk & cheese.

The team definitely have the Martin Paterson influence all over it. To hold a decent league one team to a draw & possibly should have won the game is very encouraging for the season.

Morning all, I didn’t go to the match yesterday, I was suffering after my park run, I’m not sure how much longer I can do them, I used to enjoy it but it seemed like torture yesterday and left me feeling a bit down, I hate getting old but I guess it’s better than the alternative.

@liampie I'm sorry you didn’t enjoy your experience in the Pavis stand, I can imagine for a youngster like yourself it seems a bit lifeless but when you’re older you might not want to be jumping up and shouting, singing etc., I enjoy just sitting and enjoying the game, I do occasionally join in with a chant and certainly applaud but I’ll leave the frenetic atmosphere of the kop to those that like it. Each to their own.

Anyway I’m pleased Notts put on a decent show, hopefully things are coming together.

It's a dry start to the day here but overcast. We don't have any rain forecast for the rest of the day.

@Fan of Big Tone I found that jogging is too much now & prefer walking. It just keeps me active walking a few miles every other day.. it I feel like it I do some exercises & light weights indoors.

Yeah, I'm with you. Despite being soulless (can't argue with @liampie over that) the side-on view and low level noise really helps you concentrate on the game. An exception was the 'Welcome back, Dan' game - even the Pavis was up for that one, the atmosphere was electric.

Me too. I think adjusting to age-appropriate activities is very important as you get older.

Because of injuries, more than age, I decided to give up football about twenty years ago. Trouble is I got so old and so much time passed that I forgot about this important decision and started playing 5-a-side again (with work colleagues but with some in their early 20s too). In the second game I lasted 10 seconds before my calf went ping. I'd scored a nice one the week before, so I'll go out on that and go back to my age-appropriate activities rule. Walking, all types, is on the top of my list - love it.

What a great end to a Sunday. The Lionesses have won the European Championship again. It's a fantastic performance by the ladies & what a lift for Women's Football in this Country.

I'm sure that the Notts County Women are going to take great encouragement from this win, & hopefully will go on to have a successful season.
