EFL Play-offs

Featured Replies

I enjoyed the Championship play-off first legs despite the complete lack of goals.

None of those teams look like they could handle the Prem, but looked decent - except for Hull, who are really forgetable. I really fancy Millwall in that one. And it will be nice to see Maca come on and bid to be a Premiership player (if only for a moment)

Now it's Stevenage v Stockport and Kyle Wootton playing centee-back. He looks really good.

Really looking forward to Ruben v Balders in Bolton v Bradford later

I haven't had a chance to watch any other than Notts, I did see the highlights of some and I think Stockport County were very fortunate to have scored. Not that I think the Stevenage keeper had any merits in his appeals. I just think the goal ending up in the back of the net was fortunate, but I know both teams had some good chances which perhaps deserved to have gone in more than that.

On the Ex-Notts front, it's good to see so many players involved in other teams success. It wasn't that long ago (or feels) that we very rarely saw any players on the up, instead on the down and out.

Further signs of progress, I think.

A field where dreams become reality.

I watched Millwall v Hull last night, I felt sorry for Millwall who finished third but miss out in playoffs. Two ex Notts players on show, Patterson made a bad mistake for one of the Hull goals and Langstaff came on with 10 minutes left but by that time the game was lost, Hull played well and deserved to win.

It might be an unpopular opinion but if I were in control I would scrap the playoffs & just go to maybe five up and five down for every league in the football pyramid.

The thought of a seventh placed side beating a side that finished fourth isn't right in my book. I think that is totally unfair, that a one off game should decide whether a club is promoted or not, when a side as had to play 46 games to finish where they did.

The playoffs are just a way of making more money for the TV companies & a smaller amount for those clubs involved. I think that the prize money for promoted clubs should be increased. Let's leave the one-off games to domestic cup competitions only.
