Anyone going? It'll be good to see the new players for the first time and it's spot the trialist season too.

I'm guessing we'll play two different sides for each half and given the squad is a tad light we'll surely have a few of our academy players involved.

Not really fussed about the score, we know the starting 11 come August will be nothing like the one that starts today, as long as no-one gets injured that's all that really matters to me.

Notts team to face Alfreton.

A clean sheet for Notts. Two different teams in each half.

A good save by Roos in the 2nd half to keep that clean sheet for Notts.

Thanks for the updates. Sounds like a good run-out, and interesting that Iorpenda was there. Great goal by Gibbons, he must have a foot like a traction engine.

There are some cracking goals from today, those highlights make it look like Alfreton were instructed not to tackle us!

So Aden Flint, Harlee Dean and Jonathon Leko were the three trialists going off the info from here. Obviously hard to gauge much against a team from the NL North but I would feel a tad more comfortable signing a centre back that was closer to 30 than 40.

Tom deciding to come a watch us play a meaningless friendly in his free time... Hmmm, I'm sure he's made some new friends at Notts but it makes me wonder. 🕵

It sounds like we were much more organised than previous encounters with Alfreton, but they are a lot weaker too. It's going to be interesting what trialists if any impress, and how we are going to go about filling the squad in the areas needed before the start of the season. I am pleased for Ryley Reynolds but what ever has happened to James Sanderson? These two seem like a big part of our future for the talent we develop ourselves.

It's a good run out, but the result means little, but the fitness levels returning should be coming along nicely.
