3rd game of the season against Pompey, and easily the most important I'd say. We really need to win this one, anything less would be a bad result.

Anyone else going? Me and the other Weymouth Magpies will be there, COYP

I'm trying to arrange to get to the game, if I can get a ticket and travel their I will be but I think I may of left it too late. I really want to be there to get behind the club, players and just because I'd like to finally get to an away game.

Lets hope for a result like our home performance :)

Would love to go and watch but I can't :( huge game and I am weirdly confident of a win! This is a huge month for Notts!

i cant make away games its awkward but if i could, i would be on the supporters coach. sounds bad i guess, support given tho.

Match tickets arrives yesterday, just need to collect train tickets :) Good thing is IF the game was to be called off (which is highly unlikely but you never know with that unpredictable British weather!) Weymouth are playing at Totton, which is on the way to Pompey lol.

Looking forward to it, 4th Notts game of the season for me, 2nd at Portsmouth. Hoping to do Crawley, Brentford and Swindon all away, as well as a trip to Meadow Lane between now and the end of the season. And the Wembley play-off final ofcourse ;)

Will be there along with three others. Feel like I have been starved of football lately. If anyonefrom here see's me, say hello, I dont bite. Would be nice to put names to faces.

Do you travel with the supporters coach Dave?

Next time I'm at Meadow Lane, I will have to say hello. It would be nice to meet up with fans, it's something I have shyed away from for too long. I still wished I could go, especially to try to make a difference but can't afford to make the journey.

I've opened the chat room, so if anyone would like to you can do so by clicking the blue icon at the bottom. (next to Chat (0) 'whatever the amount is') I'll leave it on even if it doesn't get used, would be nice to chat with who decides to join us. It's supposed to be mobile friendly, however there's no way to include it into the mobile skin so you would be required to use the either of the full versions. (both are mobile friendly)

Personally I have a good feeling, I have spent awhile talking to some Pompey fans. (Hence why I'm still up) They seem content that the game will happen, mentioned the rain isn't as bad as reported and they've had worse.

We need to get the results, I wouldn't say it's major if we don't but the three points are vital for us 'bouncing back' I fully expect the game to be fairly open, full of creative play.

This could go either way.Notts haven't played for a while and a lot of flak has been flying around. Also Pompey up against it financially.A lot depends on the players attitude.Predict 0-0.Not too optimistic for Rams, expect to lose.Hope for no injuries.Forest to win though Posh unpredictable.

They've had quite a few pitch inspections, 3 at least to my knowledge. Supposedly 1pm would be the last but our fans are already there, no comments are coming forward yet and it would be very annoying for them to have the game called off after what's been quoted as the last pitch inspection. Refs need more common sense, if there's any doubts they should discuss with the teams (who can advise the fans).

Games just been called off! Gutted.

Far from happy.

Spent £70 on train tickets, £35 on match tickets for it to be off. Got to Fratton Park at quarter past 1 just in time to be told it was off. But a steward told me that the ref had been out on the pitch at 9am and said that unless there was a dramatic change in the weather there was no chance of the game being on. Well the forecast was always for heavy rain in the afternoon so why on earth couldnt he call it off at 9am and save people actually getting to Portsmouth and wasting money?

Disgraceful, but hey its not like us supporters are important anymore is it? Can see why people dont show up in winter, they dont know if the games on or off till 3pm!

I admire the dedication of those who went, regardless you did to support the team and that's great stuff! It's a shame about the money mate. I have been reading comments about Home teams compensating traveling away fans, which I'm not 100% for due to the fact match officials are a little clueless. It should be the football league too, who have to make up the difference. If a football club does its best and the official decides it isn't 'good' enough they should take a share of the blame. This isn't going to bring back any of your money (or those who came) but it's about time they worked at getting the decisions right.

Obviously this isn't possible all the time but I can name a few games where it could of been called off earlier, preventing travel.

Did you end up watching the other game James?

sad it didnt go ahead. those who travelled have right to be angry, some pompey fans are but i dont know if it was the right call. probably should of sooner

No mate, Totton v Weymouth was postponed around the same time, give or take 10 minutes. Basically had a day sitting on trains!

that sucks weymouth, did you just end up going back then? £70 is a lot of money to go down the drain.

shrewsbury drew to bottom of the league, normally i would be disappointed but we played okay. i feel we are safer than what was a few months back, i thought ours may of been called off. luckily it didn't happen!

Something weird is going on with the quotes since I upgraded yesterday... mmmm

I ended up going out, I had no idea that Weymouth's was called off too.

Will, good to hear you didn't lose! it's a point towards your safety. I feel you have enough to survive, if you can keep hold of Morgan you won't have to worry to much. I don't know to much though mate, I do keep an eye out for you guys but I have no idea if you contain any other threats up front. (a-side from offside Rodgers) Sorry hehe :)

Yeah we just went home. Well, we got to Fratton station just before 1pm and walked straight to the ground, was there for 5 mins before a steward told us it was off so we went over the road to mcdonalds first, then we went back to the station to ho home. Even that wasent straight forward! we couldnt get a train directly back to southampton central so we had to change af Fairham, but the train to southampton we were going to catch was cancelled! Eventually got home just after 5pm.

Long day, and very possibly the most expensive mcdonalds in history haha

Posted

really hectic day from the sounds of it then! i would of pulled my hair out, well what i have left after the southampton central was cancelled. just watching match of the day now, reading vs west brom! great game so far.

ps. dont get me started on mcdonalds, they get smaller but still charge more each visit. seeesssshh!

We were 40 miles from Portsmouth when we got the tweet from Steve cheery. Four of us, two from Notts, one from Newcastle and one from Preston. Stopped in a service station awaiting pitch inspection results. Started looking at plan B.

We could do......

Bumfluff v Swindon (no idea which end to sit in)

Aldershot v Accrington Stanley (got to go with the Accy Ultra`s)

Aston Villa v Southampton (neutral)

Reading v WBA (sit with the Baggies, Lee Hughes would have)

Go home (spend the rest of the day with the wife.......not an option really)

Went for Reading V WBA. Treated to five goals. Had a great time, even at £37 a ticket.

I read your blog about your traveling etc, very interested. I didn't have a great deal on that day, so I kept tuned into facebook and noticed you had gone to the reading game. You made a good call, personally I wouldn't of seen much interested and how wrong would I of been. I watched the highlights and it seemed like a great game, some great play!

Most would of just turned around, so it's great to hear you had a plan B. :)
