Notts Ladies and Meadow Lane

I've been hearing a lot of commenting regarding the ladies team, it seems the media are now picking up on it and it seems to have been overlooked (unless I have).

Notts have done a deal with Arnold Town supposedly, which allows us to train their. It means that our players don't have to travel to high-fields and then back to Meadow Lane to have a shower. It's also rumoured that this will give the NCLFC (Notts Ladies) a new home. Now, I'm not against the move because it leaves less playing time on the actual pitch at Meadow Lane, so this can only be a good thing for the men's team.

However, I've honestly been impressed with the Notts Ladies. It's also good to see a core of our fans making Meadow Lane their home, I am not sure this type of support will follow the Notts Ladies to Arnold's ground and this perhaps would be a bad thing for the ladies.

It's important that the ladies have the crowd behind them, I can actually see it paying off and working out to be quite the advantage to play their home games at Meadow Lane. So, would this move be a good thing or bad thing? I naturally would prefer the rugby team to move, yet they've still go a considerable length on their terms.

I have to say I'd be down about it, I don't think I would be as excited to go to Arnold.

You? C'mon, let's discuss this and keep it going.

Re the ladies, I thought it was the same as the first team, training only? I'd be surprised if they did move them to Arnold as they really would loose any momentum they have had support wise.

Agreed on the rugby. The sooner they leave the better!

The Nottingham post refer to the deal as 'bringing the ladies team home' and giving them a base, a couple of other local news sources have ran with the story and it seems it might be related to the cost(s) involved with the ladies playing at Meadow Lane.

How much of this is true, I don't know.

I'd much rather the rugby team leave than the ladies I think the do a lot more damage to the pitch.

I also think if the ladies played at Arnold their support would suffer as a result.

Can't the rugby lot just move out to Arnold Town, and leave the ladies where they are, at Meadow Lane.

For me another facet to this whole situation that seems to be continually overlooked is the whole Notts will play attractive football crap that we have been fed over the last few years, our pitch is a joke come October 1st and it gets continually worse eventually reflecting a cow field come December onwards thanks to the fecking rugby, this problem will now be compounded with the ladies playing at ML.

I'd much prefer it for SD & GA to just come out and admit the pitch will be even more of a joke this season and that we will be playing a brand of football more akin to Keith Alexander to overcome this as at least training on a proper pitch will enable us to get our distance right on the hoof ball towards JS.

I might have a search for the two other articles, yet this is what the Nottingham Post website said.

This move will give them better facilities and will also give Notts County Ladies a home too.

Originally I didn't think they mentioned much, yet the "Notts County Ladies a home too" sounds like they're referring to them moving. I think it would be a bad decision, I wouldn't travel there to be honest.
