Last year,this year?

Featured Replies

On the 5th of October last year Notts beat Crewe 4- 0.This was the 10th game of the season and meant Notts were 19th in League one with just 4 points  and a goal difference of  -6.Going into this years first October game ,Notts are in 10th place after the same number of games but with 14 points and  a goal difference of +4.

It took Notts until the 7th of December last year to manage 14 points. This was after Sean Derry's 5th match in charge and found Notts rock bottom of the league after 20 games and with a goal difference of  -13, having just won 3 - 1 at home against....... Gillingham

So where will Notts be this year after 20 games? The next 10 fixtures (unless games are re-arranged) are as follows ,with current league positions in brackets-

       Home-Gillingham(14th)

                  Crawley    (13th)

                  Walsall      (17th)

                  Yeovil        (16th)

                   Swindon   (3rd)

        Away-Barnsley    (21st)

                  Scunthorpe(23rd)

                  Coventry    (15th)

                  Shef Utd     (7th)

                  Rochdale    (5th)

This will take us to the 20th of December.Based on last years statistics Notts need about 30 points to maintain 10th place-that's 16 points from 10 games

Clearly much as improved, I am not yet thinking we need x amount of points to stay up. I am focusing each game as they happen but we are doing much better. This highlights that fact! Being 8th is another sign.

Great Escape? What's wrong with that.

Fantastic to compare this season to the last, it's so much better when you see how a side is learning from the mistakes its made. I think Derry will continue to correct faults and manage to work them out, they're training much harder these days. Harry Andrews mentioned how it's been taken up several levels, so personally I hope we don't forget. ;)

Oldham was epic!

A field where dreams become reality.

It is interesting to see the difference from last year, but we wouldn't be saying that if we were talking about last year and the year before. We are certainly doing better this year.
