Has gone out on a month's loan to Brizzol Rovers with an option to bring him back with 24 hours notice. Shaun says it will be good experience and we have adequate cover in Pilks.

Thoughts?

Proud to be a Notts County Supporter for over 60 years.

I've been saying pretty much since the start of the season we needed to loan him out.

Bristol Rovers should be a good move, they need a keeper and I expect him to start regularly. I'd be disappointed if he didn't take this chance, yet I do think no matter what he will come back stronger. If he does well, we could perhaps give him some league starts to keep his confidence up. I don't think it helps inexperienced/upcoming keepers to remain on the bench so long.

Yet it does make me think this move is to allow him to become our No1. Which leads me to think Roy Carroll won't be extending his stay, I'm quite good at reading between the lines.

Second guessing is fun. :P

Roy has been Immense since arriving for me. I hope he does stay on for a good period of time, but let's hope Fabs does pick up some much needed confidence and game time just in case!

From what I've read about Spiess,on these forums,it seems that there is an issue with his confidence and 1st team experience..A lot of members think he is a good prospect but isn't ready yet. This move should answer a few questions.

I don't think Pilks will end up playing much, unless Speiss gets injured down there... The deal is we can recall at 24 hours notice, so unless Roy picks up an injury bad enough early in a game, I Don't see KP being needed.

Good experience for Fabian, can only do him good... The thing that worries me is if it is then going to prompt him to look to make the deal permanent during the window if he does well?

He will want to be playing after all

I don't think he will be our goalkeeper, if he reaches the prospect people think he will move on. I don't think hes prepared enough for it really.

Like the man said, Pilks can cope with one game and if needed call Fabs back on the 24 hrs clause.

i dont get it at all, esp with harry andrews being released.

No surprise Liam, he's never really impressed me.

I do think a little longer might have given him a chance to prove doubters wrong, though he still can if he finds a club and rebuilds up. A local side within Nottingham would be a good idea for him, perhaps sign for one season and see if his performances can attract higher non league interest.
