Marco Reus fined €540 000!

Featured Replies

Ouch, would a regular Joe or banker be fined so much? I'm not sure.

I have to say I don't think the amount is quite fair but he should learn, my issue is others with money that break rules but get fined peanuts. I know you can't compare but I am certain others get a way with it lighter.

A field where dreams become reality.

From what I heard this morning, it wasn't a one-off incident, he had been driving for years without a licence. Did he really think he'd never get caught?

Is it really that hard for someone with that much money (and supposedly free time) to just get a license? Funnily enough millions of other people in the world seem to manage at some time or another.  It really is baffling.

At least the fine seem to be proportionate to his earnings.  I believe a punishment should always be proportional. I don't think someone who can only afford to live on a council estate should be fined this much for example.

When you get away with it for so long, you think you're invincible, and will never get caught.

What goes around comes around

You're probably right. He probably started by going out for a quick drive without another qualified person in the car, didn't get caught, and things just escalated from there.
