'No Bajner, No Party!' - Notts County lift Facebook ban on Hungary

Notts County have lifted a ban that prevented the whole of Hungary from using their Facebook page after a deluge of comments relating to a new signing.

The club took the “drastic” decision after it was flooded by fans from the Eastern European country posting about Hungarian striker Balint Bajner, 24, after he signed from Ipswich Town on Tuesday, January 20.

They said they had to find a way of allowing other supporters to access information as they responded to each online post with comments including “No Bajner, No Party!”

But head of media Jamie Dixon said Hungarian fans were given access again on Monday and he hopes to develop a positive relationship.

"Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road. Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go, so make the best of this test, and don't ask why, It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time" - I really want to be able to say 'good riddance'.

We spoke of how PETA handled the situation with the poster, I wouldn't think this isn't much different.

As a fan who speaks regularly to mix of different people, I am sure this will be seen as a gimmick and to be honest it is. It could have been handled better in the first place and embraced, the spam cut out and trolls banned but keeping the people who actually comment. Mind this would not have attracted national/world wise press interest but I have grown sick of it.

If the sales help to bring in some much required monies then why not? all part of the modern way of life.
