Ghana

It seems one of our former loanees (last season) Kwesi Appiah played for Ghana in the quarter final and semi final of AFCON, must be a major step up to be called up by Ghana, but I saw him play last night and for the 82 minutes that were played, he looked relatively comfortable.

He scored for Ghana in the quarter finals. He was on loan to Cambridge earlier this season. I wonder if he'll get a proper chance at Palace now or will he be available for loan again. I'd imagine there will be a queue of clubs lining up to sign him.

I see Palace allowing him to leave to be honest, it's hard to see him getting into their side. Mainly because they seem scared to give youngsters a try, they mainly stick to the typical front men. He never really had much chance to shine here, he came at a point where we needed much more than just a striker. His pace stood out, though not much else because he wasn't really brought into the games (that he played).

In fact I didn't realize he played 7 times, I thought it was more like 3-4.

His contract expires this summer if my source is correct, I can see him moving somewhere on a free, or maybe getting an extension if he plays in the final against Ivory Coast and making a good account of himself.

It's probably unlikely but could Derry talk him into coming back? If he's matured and established himself at international level, dropping down a league or two could see him advance further.

I highly doubt, though he's the type of young player I hope the club could attracted.

By this I mean 'young internationals' who are looking to establish themselves, I don't think it's that unlikely we could draw interest from players who are in contention for the lower established international teams. Some of the players in Jamaica are decent and fast! They tend to join League 1 or become fringe Championship teams. Just a thought.
