Fish and chips

We were baby sitting at our sons house the other day and decided to nip to the chippy for our supper when the kids had gone to bed. The fish were like whales and the two portions of chips were enormous, we only managed one portion and threw the other away, what a waste why don't chippies make the portions smaller and cheaper I'm sure one person could never eat a whole portion.

In future we will just get the fish and do our own oven chips (we love Aunt Bessie's frozen oven chips).

You're obviously using the wrong chippie@tonyhateley

Our local one does a deal for 2 people for a fiver. 2 medium fish (which are still big I admit!) 2 battered sausages, 2 sides eg peas, beans etc...

a cheap and nice take away!

Blooming eck, that's good!

Clever chippy's do @tonyhateley, however the majority sway towards large size because that's where they probably get the custom or word of mouth going. The times I've heard someone complaining about small fish (when they're reasonable sized and priced), it's odd. The chap who owns one of the best chippy's in Skegness, he does various fish and the sizes vary and the best thing about that is people can choose wisely.

A lot of one's based in Nottingham can't really be bothered (it would seem) and just cook one size to please all.

I don't like fish myself but I always look at the sizes of items because it tells you a lot about the chippy.
