I was saddened to seeing the players being booed during the game, at half time and at full time against Preston.

OK, I was as frustrated as anyone at the level of performance and had a moan to the person next to me and even come on here and moan about it but to boo the players especially during the game is in my opinion counter productive. They know they are having a bad game and don't choose to go out there and deliberately lose to wind the fans up. So let's give them a break and try and support them through the bad patches, encouragement works far better than booing. If fans really feel the need to boo then I wish they would do it after the final whistle.

I was booing the ref, it made me feel better. I never boo a player, so I am unsure about this as I think people was also booing the Preston players and I honestly don't recall a moment where one of our players was the direction of booing. I heard plenty of comments, though no booing directly towards a player or when one of ours had the ball. (I could hear the Preston fans doing this)

This might be something I missed, so.. I agree though it doesn't help but people are always going voice themselves in any way possible.

I'd prefer to hear 'booo' than 'your ***$ing s£*t, get him of the &uc%ing pitch' or the abuse that a certain striker got. (his feet were the problem) he held the ball up, headed it on and made movement which was more than some others but got hassle regardless.

I can't really comment though really, especially with me not actually hearing boos (apart from Preston players, Match decisions)

Totally agree,Tony,it's counterproductive in the extreme.Look what happened against Bury after the half time murmurings.Admitedly Notts started playing much better but I'm sure it helped tremendously with the Notts fans getting behind the team.

how would this be addressed? good supportive fans are around, they help and i agree booing doesnt.

i think people just want to be heard and appreciated themselves.

Joe -  there were very loud boos at half time and full time which I took to be directed towards the players after the performance they put in, I might be wrong. However there was also booing when I think it was Boucaud had the ball, he looked up and no one was in suitable forward position to pass it to so he passed it sideways and then it got passed back, that was definitely directed towards our players.

Perhaps you didn't hear it because of the drum, it's lot quieter where I sit apart from the odd snoring noise coming from the old fogey's around me.  :D

As I have said before I hate the sideways and backwards passing but I wouldn't dream of booing. I guess people would say that they pay their admission fee and have the right to boo if they think they aren't getting value for well earned money but I just think it is counter productive (just my opinion).

Liam has a fair point, people do want to be heard and it's a case of doing it the wrong way. Not only the players want to feel appreciated, the players need to respect the fans just as much but some fans need to learn to hold their speech (sounds included).

Years ago at Derby,if support was on the quiet side our PopSide(Baseball Ground) would start singing 'We can't hear you C stand(or another stand)' Of course there would be an immediate response from all parts of the ground with all the fans getting behind our team and roaring them on instead of being critical or abusive.

I actually think you refreshed my mind! The pass was straight through the middle, I think Andre was trying to put Arquin? (I don't recall properly) through but it was a woeful effort, one much like how Preston cut out most of our passing movements. I do recall boring! This guy behind me kept saying 'We paid 25k for that'.. I don't think all the booing was aimed at our players, though I probably was sounded out by something but probably not the drum. LOL

Me too, I said to a guy called 'Mark' it's like watching England when they was gutless. Our passing hits a wall, nobody thinks about going round them or knocking them down. A good quick run, would make most players nervous and could draw a free kick. We pass to the side, pass back and then all the way to the keeper!

People was calling Bart and the defenders for passing it, though Bart wanted to help try break the wall down and give a direct route for our attack. It's a shame some people don't realize some peoples efforts.

It's only based on their actual position I think.
