Today,as part of the 150 year celebrations,Sheffieild F.C. will play Hallam F.C at The BT Business Stadium, Dronfield.

Β

Those amongst you who have read my articles will be aware that this fixture is the oldest local soccer derby still being played. The two teams are the oldest playing Association Football(Notts being a Football League side)

Β

The kick off for this match is 6PM and is attracting quite a bit of attention.

Β

However at 1PM there will be a game between the two clubs veterans played in the style of football at the time of the first fixture ,with spectators being encouraged to dress as in that period.

Cheers,Tony. My memory actually goes back to the about 1953.I can remember the coronation quite clearly(I was 6 at the time) but I sometimes can't remember what I did yesterday.I don't know about you but football seems to have been around forever and 125 years(Football League) is a relative long time, yet our great grandfathers probably witnessed the early years.,

You're giving your age away there, good job my maths is rubbish.

You're lucky I can't remember what happened yesterday, the day before, last week, last year or 10 years ago. In fact who am I? What am I doing here?

Its another interesting read... I wonder how many more things you have to talk about. All the articles upto now have been interesting to read and look back on when you've added more.

@super_ram's back with 150 Years of Football series, part 6 is here for your pleasure.

Very feature rich and the detail is outstanding, I'm very thankful to my father for taking the time to read it and write for us. Please do take time to read it, even if you break it up (as it's quite long). :P
