Shaun Derry in the running for Cambridge United job was at the game against Bastingstoke I believe in the cup and taking notes apparently has already spoke to chairman.

And is belived to be in the running what would the odds be on him getting the job and we go there after Barnet and lose I can see it happening right now .

Headlines old Notts boy relegates Ricardo moniz.

in fact knowing our luck watch it come true it wouldn't surprise me one bit

He's been appointed. Good luck to him, but I'd be nervous if I was a U's fan.

why cause he had no money to spend limited funds couldn't really bring anyone half decent in like we have now one thing Derry will do is install a fight in there players.

Something we haven't got also gaurenteed to thrash us in few weeks time

It didn't do us a lot of good last season.

While you're on about budgets - remember Jake Cassidy, Steven McLaughlin, Ryan Hall, Alefe Santos, Hayden White, Sean Newton, Kwame Thomas, Leroy Lita, Elliot Whitehouse, Shaun Harrad, Will Hayhurst and Billy Daniels? Players that had zero impact for us last season. In fact I had to look half of them up. But I bet their wages combined could have paid for one, maybe two quality additions who could have made all the difference. I'm disappointed that RM seems to have fallen into the same trap, but that doesn't absolve Derry of all blame for the mismanagement of our team last season.

I wonder if he will try to sign any of his old players from us.

I've got a lot of time for Shaun Derry and I wish him well, I so wish he could have done better with us.

I wish Shaun Derry well, except on 28th November and whenever the home fixture is, with them.

good club for him, he will probs settle better with less expectations and more time.

realism can be a killa.

To be fair, I wouldn't be surprised if they improved, Derry did an excellent firefighting job with us when he was appointed. The real test of whether he's learned from his mistakes will come when he has to put his own squad together.

He nearly secured us a play-off spot, if only the bubble didn't burst but it did look like we may have done well if it hadn't.

It's easy when things are going right, yet when it isn't - it's harder to resolve and I feel everything worked against Derry. I really do think he'll become a good manager, which I stand by comments made around the time of his sacking. Good luck to him regardless!
