Who will win the title?

There's a big weekend coming up at the top of the Premier League so I thought it'd be interesting to get your thoughts - who will be lifting the trophy come May?

I think we all WANT Leicester to do it. It would certainly be the most surprising triumph of my lifetime, made all the more thrilling by the prevelance of serious money at the top of the game. They have a settled, confident team, the league's top scorer, no matches against fellow challengers after Arsenal and no cup distractions. But do they have the depth and experience? One or two injuries could seriously derail them. Can they handle the pressure?

Man City are the only team at the top with real experience in a title race, and they have European football and an upcoming change at the top to contend with. Arsenal could close to within two points if they win on Sunday, but they're serial bottlers. Spurs are well-positioned to capitalise if Leicester stutter, but they haven't won a title in donkey's years - will they choke with the finish line in sight? I put United in for a laugh.

It would be really nice for Leicester to win it and looking at their fixtures compared to everyone else you would think that they should do it easily. I won't be surprised if they beat Arsenal, but for some reason, I think they are going to blow up against the lesser teams. With that in mind, I am going to plump for Spurs, because man for man I think they are currently the best team in the top four and have come into form at the right time.

But please let it be Leicester, it would be a massive shot up the rear end of the premier league moneybags!

It will be Arsenal or Man City in my opinion.

Spurs will most likely succumb to the heights and pressure (as I think will Leicester). One of my friends runs a foxes fan site, he's in cloud nine at the moment and we often joke about this season - as the previous year he was struggling to even get views. It would be amazing if they can hold on, yet I have my doubts. Their cup game against Spurs made me think they didn't care for it, something which may bite back at them.

Provided they finish 1-4 they'll be able to push on.

It's important that they don't let it go to their heads or that in turn, it goes to their cheques.

Arsenal do wobble yet they have a lot of depth, even in games whereby they have been outclassed - again I mention Spurs who treated them to a taste of their own medicine, felt the punch that Arsenal have and I genuinely feel, not only did the Gunners do well to pull it back to 2-2 (I actually think they should have won). Giround (I may have spelled it wrong) is absolutely shocking.

Yet they play football the right way and often are punished because of being too 'attacking' minded.

Man City share a woeful issue with their defence, in some aspects very similar to Arsenal but once they bow defensively - the whole squad just goes to pieces but their manager knows how to resolve the offset.

If Leicester City manages to remain up top, it will be between them, Arsenal and Man City.

Yet I think the latter two are the clear favourites in my opinion.

Many people knock giroud but if he doesn't get injured he could get 20 goals easy, but naturally I would love Leicester to win it, I think spurs have a very good chance as they are a well oiled machine, but not many teams have coped with Leicesters basketball style counter attack, they all play for each other.

I don't think pellegrini is a good manager, he just has money, but without kompany city have no organisation despite having spent so much money

Arsenal could still do it but its anyones to win, I think by the end of march someone will be clear of the rest though

I've stuck with Leicester

Let's hope Leicester City can withstand the pressure, I have a feeling it's about to turn for the worse for them but I am completely wrong. I think think Arsenal or Man City will claim the title.

I'm still sticking with Tottenham, especially after last weekend. I would still love Leicester to do it though and also think that Arsenal will bottle it as per usual, especially against Utd.

I have a gut feeling it's going to be Spurs too. Haven't been massively impressed by Arsenal, and City have a soft underbelly and a Champions League campaign to deal with. I'd love to see Leicester do it, but I think people are underestimating just how long and nerve-wracking the run-in is - even the most experienced teams can choke. Their match against Arsenal would never have been a title decider, even if they had won, there's simply too long to go.

As for who I WANT to win, Spurs are second favourites behind the Foxes for me - when did they last win the league? Not endeared to Arsenal due to their fans' mardy sense of entitlement. Let them wait a bit longer for the title they "deserve".

Fast forward a couple of months and Leicester are now 7 points clear with five games remaining. Three wins would therefore guarantee them the title regardless of what the opposition does. There's now a pretty decent chance of them becoming the first champions from the Midlands since I was in nappies.

 

Leicester's fixtures:

Wet Spam (H) - Champions League place at stake for the Hammers

Swansea (H)

Man Utd (A) - in the running for Champions League / Europa League

Everton (H)

Chelsea (A)

 

Tottenham's fixtures:

Stoke City (A) - got half an eye on Europe

West Brom (H)

Chelsea (A)

Southampton (H) - European football at stake for the visitors

Newcastle (A) - PL survival possibly at stake

 

Some tricky fixtures coming up there, in particular Chelsea, who haven't lost many since Jose departed. But if the Foxes can beat Swansea and Everton, two home games against teams with nothing more to play for, one win out of their remaining three will guarantee them the title even if Spurs win all their remaining games.

I did say giroud would score 20 goals without injury and he has but hasn't scored many this side of the season, but I don't think anyone expected Leicester to still be at the top at this point in the season

Bump. With three games to go, the gap is once again 7 points - meaning that Leicester need one win from their last three games to be sure. They might not even need that though - if Spurs drop points against Chelsea (which I suspect they might), the Foxes are home and dry already. Really hope this happens!
