Luther Wildin has been given a pro contract by the club, I've heard good things about him in the reserves! Anyone seen him play ?

I haven't seen him play a competitive match but I have read good things about him.

Good news for him that a professional deal has been offered.

Yes, you can, but you are banned from scouting any teams in the South West!!

This is good news, but it will beg the question as to what it means to our current right backs Hewitt and Atkinson? It could well be the end of Atkinson but we shall wait and see, because until we get new owners we will have no idea of the budget.

I think we both liked the look of him in the reserve games.  His contract does pose a bit of a problem in that we have three young players (Wildin, Hewitt, Atkinson) who's primary position is right back.  Even though Hewitt has looked better since Cooper took charge I'm still not entirely convinced, as both him and Atkinson look better going forward than defending.  Once the Mansfield game is out of the way I hope Wildin gets a few minutes of first team experience before the season is over.

I already pencilled in Wildin for next seasons squad,,,

Piethagorams new seasons musings...

Goalkeeper Loach / Joe Searson-Smithard

Right Back  Wildin / ............. Hewitt to be listed

Left Back  Audel / Sharpe           list Bennett

Centre Backs  ................. / Amevor maybe Hollis ' / Agathise

Midfield   ................ /Noble, Stanley, Richards, McMillan, ( Curtis ,Atkinson) Milsom

Wingers Snijders, Valencic

Forwards .................. Burke / Gibson / (Stead / Idle to be listed...controversial!!!!!

MC to source

Right Back

Centre Back

A Neal Bishop type midfielder

A Jamie Vardy type goal scorer and Spencer type target man

On Tuesday night, Hartlepool's threat came down our right. Just count the number of times Hewitt gets a block in? Wildin has been a revelation when I have seen him play with an ability to block crosses at source. Yes, Hewitt is more attack minded but I am not sure he will ever improve his defensive duties. We shall see. Maybe Agathise will get a run at centre half before the seasons up too.

And Montel Gibson, which I thought was a bit odd when I read it because all the web entries for him are as a first year Youth Teamer, although he is apparently 18 I've learnt.

McMillan is another one who is highly regarded, it looks quite a bright future if they can continue their development.

Isn't Jack McMillan the lad the lad who's been attracting interest from several big boy clubs?

I don't imagine that Notts gives pro contracts lightly, so congratulations to them and its great that the academy is producing them.

good to see wildin, mcmillan and gibson earning pro contacts.

i just hope notts dont rush them into playing because if cooper can manage them, i think they will be good squad players.

I am having to reconsider my earlier musings, especially following Noble's dismissal.

Goalkeeper Loach / Joe Searson-Smithard

Right Back  Wildin / ............. Hewitt to be listed

Left Back  Audel / Sharpe           list Bennett

Centre Backs  ................. / Amevor  / Agathise

Midfield   ................ / Stanley, Richards, McMillan, Milsom

Wingers............/ Snijders, Valencic

Forwards .................. Burke / Gibson / both Stead and Idle to be listed.

Yes serious surgery needed. I think MC is probably having reservations over Audel.

The takeover needs to happen sooner

Agathise was released when McMillan, Gibson and Wildin were given contracts

Typically, Notts always offer three professional deals to youngsters.

Now we have the reserve team - I personally feel more could be offered to those ready or seem like they have the potential to play professional football. If some end up going out on loan, I believe they can still play in reserve games and so I think there's a chance players like mentioned above could be given a chance.

What does everyone else think? Could the reserve team be topped up with a few more youngsters?

Maybe Agathise still has another year at youth level? Have you seen another posting elsewhere that Agathise is leaving?

This says Jordan Agathise (sp?) will be offered guidance on his next steps, I assumed it meant he was released
