Thank you, yes I had a lovely day spent on board Cap Finestere coming back from Bilbao to Portsmouth. We had a lovely outside cabin with a window, it took 24 hours to get back and we docked at Portsmouth at 3pm, a long drive back to Nottingham and we are now relaxing at home with a beer.

Welcome home Tony. It was nice to hear from you while you were on holiday. When you've settled back home again can we hear  some more about what you got up to.I bet it's nice to have a real drink again though.

I was on here yesterday but never even noticed this thread! I have no excuse sir

A belated happy birthday Tony, was nice of you to drop in on PON while on holiday, sounds like you had a nice trip and judging by the weather at Trent Bridge today, you brought some sunshine home:D

What.. What.. What.. (I feel like Stone Cold) LOL

How could I miss this, now... I feel bad :(

Happy belated Birthday Tony! This reminds me I need to highlight members birthdays, so I reconfigure the hook which displays them. I hope you had a great day! Must have been fun during your jollies and I look forward to putting our star striker back upfront. We need to get some goals again! Though I am fast on tracks on sorting a few things and these might be revealed tomorrow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR TONY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Thanks guys, yes I'm back in the swing of things. The first thing I did when I got back of holiday was get some fish and chips (not available in northern Spain) and a pint of real ale (definitely not available in northern Spain) although tins of San Miguel worked out at about 30p a can, so I've brought a few back but they don't taste the same back here.

I've never tried San Miguel,Tony, so I can't comment.

It's a lager really about 4.5% I think, with the lack of British bitter it goes down ok with a bbq on a hot summers day.

Super ram won't like that i bet. He rants and raves about hating lager lol

Hi Cheeky, I hate lager too but when in Rome..... (or in my case Spain).

There is no such thing as Bitter on the continent (at least not where I've been) so it's Hobsons Choice I'm afraid.

Posted

To me lager is just an ice cold glass of very sweet , fizzy ,tasteless water but as you say , Tony, When in Rome....and Cheeky is quite right too.

Thanks Liam, we've been to Northern Spain in our campervan, don't ask about the weather, it was all Super_Ram's fault he ordered the wrong kind of weather for me. :crying:

Actually we did have some really nice days but over half the holiday was rainy.

Posted

haha at least you enjoyed it and thats bad of super ram. so much for his super powers

Posted

I guess I should have done my sun dance every day as it must have rained when I didn't,sorry Tony but I did try.

Posted

at least you tried super ram! it was kind of you.

If I could really do anything about the weather, Liam , believe me I'd be dancing all the time.

From what i remember when i went abroad a few times as a teen with my family, not to spain but Corfu, Turkey and Tenerife, my dad always said the beer wasnt that nice although he'd have to put up with it because they never had real bitter/ale. That is if i remember right

Hopefully we have some nice weather here now so that we can actually enjoy summer, not hibernate and not have to rush out to fetch washing in every time it rains.

I'm going away again in September for a couple of weeks, not sure where yet, I'll let you know Super Ram so that you can redeem yourself.

We're all off to the Near East (Skeg) for the 1st to weeks of September.  We usually get mostly decent weather-a few hot and sunny days, a couple of crappy wet days, the odd thunderstorm, probably a windy day but it doesn't stop us from  getting out and about and enjoying ourselves. I'll just keep my fingers crossed from now on and hope we all get a bit of proper summer weather. :super::sorcerer::sunshine:
