Collin 4 Sorry, have no confidence in this keeper. You never feel he will keep a clean sheet
Audel 3.5 Another lapse could, read should, have cost a goal.
Laing 5 Central defence dont work together
Duffy 4 ditto
Dickinson 4 effort but not impressed
Rodman 2 too slow, too lazy, one worthy tackle of note, otherwise nothing offered. Snijders deserves his place now
O'Connor 2 Anonymous again. Stanley gets criticised but this guy came with high expectations, which are not being delivered
Tootle 3 Not good, expected him to impose himself in a game like this.
Forte 6 Looked wasted on the wing. Did cause problems
Stead 3 Cannot play Stead and Oliver, too similar. Stead way off the pace
Oliver 4 Needed to start with Collins
Subs
Collins 5 Got pace but midfield jig saw not clicking. Needed change at 45 mins
Milsom 5 Needed Stanley instead to perhaps show something different to change the game
Campbell 4 Headless chicken syndrome. Needless lost possession which could have cost a goal

Collin 5.5 - unlucky with their first, one excellent save but still doesn't inspire confidence.
Audel 4.5 - nothing like the player of previous games. Some suicidal passes they didn't take advantage of.
Laing 5 - never looked comfortable.
Duffy 5 - never looked comfortable.
Dickinson 6.5* - kept battling to the end, at least it looked like it mattered to him.
Rodman 3 - how did he manage to stay on the pitch for 90 minutes? I don't give ratings as low as 3 easily, but he was a complete waste of a shirt again.
O'Connor 5 - again a disappointment. Just not involved enough.
Tootle 5.5 - probably the pick of the midfield, but that's not saying much.
Forte 6 - our only creative source, but even he was predictable.
Stead 5 - I hoped his partnership with Oliver would work. It didn't.
Oliver 5 - put himself about and won a few headers, but no real contribution.

Collins 5 - tried to overdo things.
Milsom 5 - simply provided more of the same.
Campbell 5 - no real contribution.

That defeat was very worrying, as all the old problems from previous seasons resurfaced. Accy were nothing more than organised and hard working, but that was more than enough to beat us. We were simply outfought, they wanted it more than we did. Forget defenders and strikers, we desperately need a Neal Bishop type in midfield to make it difficult for the opposition to play. They won't get an easier 3 points on their travels all season. We are so easy to play against, and currently Curtis Thompson is our best solution, and he's no more than average. It looks like we are in for yet another long, hard season.

Collin: 2 - He pulled off some unstoppable saves, made the most of quite a few (TV cameras?) but most of all looked like a jellyfish when it came to commanding the area.

Audel: 0 - Poor positioning, silly running, awful defending and there was a lot of stupid touches (knocking the ball out when it wasn't touched via his arm).

Laing: 5 - Did well, both defending and trying to get shots away. I felt he was let down a fair bit by Duffy and Audel.

Duffy: 3 - He did okay, yet his positional play and overall defending left major room for improvement.

Dickinson: 2 - Spent most the time arguing and defending thin air, generally seemed out of it 90% of the time. The only postive thing I can say is the fact his crosses seemed fairly decent. Defending and position play was very poor, as was being wrestled off the ball by players far lightweight compared to him.

Rodman: N/A - He was one of the midfielders who was non-existent, seriously I didn't notice him on the field.

O'Connor: 2 - Part of the issue in midfield, he allowed players far too much time and stood off advancing players. Waste of time selecting him based on this lazy and heartless performance.

Tootle: 4 - He tried to move it around, etc but was very ineffective.

Forte: 5 - He seemed to be all over the place, very poor finishing but one of few who actually tried to dig in.

Stead: 4 - I felt frustrated seeing him defend at the back, then struggle to get forward. He tried and did okay at times but he needs to lead the pack, remaining to the centre forward position and avoid these wasteful unnecessary passes.

Oliver: 3 - He tried, held the ball up and made some good movement but in all honesty he's a poor man's Izale McLeod. His constant diving and going down easy is far more frustrating than that of the player he appeared to be today.

Subs
Collins: 4 - Young, he tried but his first touch is very wasteful and as for running at players - its the wrong call. He should link up and be more direct. He really didn't do anything but then again there wasn't a lot of chance to do much.
Milsom: 3 - I think he may have been better rated if he came on sooner but largely disappointing as he didn't change much.

If the majority of players scored 4/5 we would have performed better. It was very disappointing and I have rated them to my honest opinion, I am not at all being harsh or bitter because we lost. I really do feel the majority played very distastefully today, however harsh my ratings may appear.
Campbell: N/A - Useless on the wing, he tried but just looked out of sorts.

@Elite_pie I felt Dickinson was very poor and ineffective, I don't understand how he could be rate 6.5 - I'm not arguing or anything. More trying to understand and discuss his performance. His attitude is very poor, as is his ability to get involved in games that isn't going our way.

@notts-joe Certainly, would never score Audel a zero rating on that performance... I try to be fair in my assessments

Zero ratings are for Brian Parkin's goalkeeping display, Guy Branson's 45minute nightmare

@Piethagoram He was awful today, I perhaps should have done a N/A with him but he was one of the worst players on the pitch.

He constantly allowed the Stanley players to get the better of him, constantly made clueless decisions which was very poor judgement calls. He also almost allowed them to get a 2nd well before they did, by randomly watching the ball and jumping out (in a direction away from where the ball was). In all fairness he reminded me of a Fifa 04 player that jittered and wasn't able to do much due to poor attributes.

Scores based on 6 being Average:

Collin: 4 - Just not good enough. Came highly regarded, but must have been away from 1st team action for too long. Positional sense is woeful, back four don't appear confident in him, he's quiet, can't kick to a black and white shirt and just doesn't impose himself. Replace with Loach please

Audel: 3 - The old Thierry returned today, he isn't a right back and offered nothing going forwards. Swap with Tootle, or Wildin please.

Dickinson: 3 - His worse game of the season hopefully? Struggled with their number 27 and was generally poor at the back and going forwards. Also his dead ball taking was woeful.

Duffy: 5 - Struggled positionally, but was left exposed by the midfield.

Laing: 5 - Pretty much the same as Duffy, but had no cover in front of him.

Rodman: 2 - Appalling and did pretty much nothing. I couldn't even work out where was he supposed to be playing?

O'Connor: 3 - So far he has ben a big disappointment and I'm hoping it is because he isn't yet fully match fit, but he is not imposing himself on our midfield and I'm still trying to figure out what type of player he is!

Tootle: 4 - Works hard, but has no flair so he isn't going to create anything for the side. If he plays in midfield he has to have a creative player alongside in order to pass it to.

Forte: 5 - Had the beating of their right back, but again he had no support as team mates did not move into space for him.

Stead: 4 - Tried, but his legs have gone. Seemed to spend more time on the right wing than through the middle, not where you want your leading scorer to be.

Oliver: 5 - 5 because he did at least try. He won a fair few headers, but had nobody supporting him (like a stuck record isn't it!), or following up. Seem to think that playing him today made us one dimensional.

Subs:

Collins: 3 - Not a striker as he is just too lightweight. Stick him on the wing with the license to cut in.

Milsom: 3 - Did he actual do anything of note?

Campbell: N/A - Not on long enough, but did nothing whilst on the pitch.

I completely disagree with your assessment that "His attitude is very poor, as is his ability to get involved in games that isn't going our way".  I thought he was the one player who actually showed a bit of fight and looked like he cared, I admired his attitude and wished a few more would have followed his example.  He was still trying to get forward when we were two down, and our only attacking threat came through his link with Forte on our left.  He wasn't great by any means, he was beaten too often in the first half, and 6.5 means slightly better than average in my ratings.  That's what I like about the ratings threads, the way we all see exactly the same game with different eyes!

 Like this

Honestly, he botched and moaned every remote bit of effort he made. One of their players, tall and slender constantly bumped him to the ground and he tried arguing for fouls.

Both right and left back was very poor today.

@Fozzy My starting base is 5. Some good observations made . Thought Stanley needed to come on to try to find some creativity which was absent

Is Rodman Sheridans lover? Lets be honest the reasons for him continually getting a game are strange to say the least.

As for Adam Collin, surely Scott Loach can't be that bad?

Isn't it funny that lots of people berated Stan but at least he creates chances and offers something different.

I like Sheridan as a manager and he seems to generally get his tactics right but I get the sense that Sheridan's formations are more to do with fitting certain players in rather than making best use of what he has at his disposal.

i would struggle to rate any of them over 4.

i think the midfield was very poor, none of them would be rated over 3. only the two cbs played okay, dickinson and audel really struggled with the basics.
