I upgraded my laptop earlier, it's now running the latest public release of Windows 10 Home Edition (Version 1703 - OS Build: 15063.296).

Since I have been using the Windows 10, I have always been very impressed with the design. Compared to Windows 8.0/8.1 it's more polished and a respectable bridge between Windows 7 and the previous version.

The latest update has my laptop running much smoother, I can tell the difference very easily. Previous the Windows button would seem to get stuck and never actually respond if I had my laptop on for awhile. It's a bug which has really frustrated me, as it meant I had to use the 'Type here to search' in order to locate the apps or programs I required.

Yet that's been fixed, it actually feels like I have a laptop with 16gb. Rather than one running the minimum requirements. The upgrade offers some new programs, nothing really to write home about but it is looking much smoother as I say. Just a pain how long the upgrade took, it just seemed to go on.

Are you happy with Windows 10? What version do you run? Also let me know if you had issues with the windows button or have upgraded yourself, discuss.

I like windows because you can look through them and see things on the other side.

Hated Windows 8/8.1 with a passion, it was so non user friendly on a PC/Laptop compared to running on a tablet. No wonder that businesses didn't adopt it.

I'm currently running Windows 10 pro build 1607 on a Dell Vostro 14, Kaby Lake i5 processor running at 2.5GHz, with 8GB Ram and a 256GB SSD. Using an SSD has actually made running Windows enjoyable again as I was running it on an older Lenovo i5 laptop with a 500GB hard drive, which slowed down way too much. The speed difference between SSD's and physical hard drives is like night and day. In fact I'm enjoying Windows more on this, than I am Mac OS Sierra on my older Macbook. I still rate Mac OS higher and I'm thinking of getting a Mac Air nextΒ as the new Pros are just ridiculously expensive.

I must admit though that installing Windows 10 into a network environment running Group Policies is not as straight forward as Windows 7.Β

@liampie Depends what you want to do with it. If you want to run productivity programs like Office and for printing, then Windows works well. If you want it for games and apps, then there is no competition as Android wins hands down as their play store is massive. Given the choice of the two I would pick Android all day long, but I would pick an iPad above both. I also wouldn't buy a really cheap tablet as having used them, I find the experience to be poor.

I can't comment on Windows tablets specifically @liampie, but I have used a Windows phone and found it clunky and difficult to navigate. I have an Asus Memo Pad FHD 10 with Android and have been very happy with it, although you have to be aware that tablets have a shorter shelf life than computers (after three years of use it has slowed down dramatically). Tablets are basically just oversized phones and are obsolete just as quickly.

I can echo @Fozzy's comments on SSD drives, I had one installed at work and everything boots up within seconds. Unfortunately I now have no excuse to skive off for the first 5-10 minutes of my working day!

i just mostly browse the internet, a few light games (nothing that demanding) and pretty standard apps.

i currently have a 3 year old samsung tablet and its starting to slow down with more of the modern apps that require a faster processor etc. this is pretty much the reason why i am considering windows because they tend to have more ram and can double up as a computer when hooked to a tv etc.
