Derby v Aston Villa the first derby of the weekend

Featured Replies

Derby 0 Aston Villa 3 .. so the first local  Derby of the weekend has been played and Villa manages to get the 3 points.

coming in to the game Derby had only conceded a handful of goals were 6 points in front of Villa and further up the league.

lampard had clearly had a great start to his managerial job at Derby.

While Villa handnt  had such a good start to this season loosing 5 and winning 5 so winning imperative for Villa.

Villa scored 3 in the second half to put the game beyond Derby’s reach on the day Villa were the better side and clear to see that Derby wasn’t on form.

A bad day at the office.Missed Mount and the obvious replacement,Bryson ,was also injured.Rams could have had 2 in the first half, which was even.No argument with second half,Rams very much outplayed but we've had an excellent run since the last International break.FL has 2 weeks to recover and push on to Christmas. It's not the end of the world(that apparently is coming with Brexit). We're still in a play off place.(For now)

If I'm not mistaken I believe newly appointed managers tend to strike it lucky at times, especially whilst players want to impress. I'm not sure how long ago Steve Bruce was sacked but it doesn't seem that long ago.

Bruce was sacked at the beginning of October with Villa greatly, IMHO,underachieving.Rams were poor in the 1st half in the previous (v Brum)game but were completely the opposite in the 2nd half. That is one of my concerns - the occasional inconsistency
