Only one Notts County player played in a World Cup while at the club. Can you name him? I'll give you a clue. It was at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.

Without looking it up (that would take the fun out of it) - Rachid Harkouk? I know he stuck around for a bit after relegation.

The only other ones I can think of from that era are Mick Waitt (but New Zealand had never qualified for a World Cup at that time) and Ian McParland (but I don't think he ever played for Scotland).

Correct. Well done. He came on as a sub against Northern Ireland and started against Spain. He suffered a knee injury in the Spanish game that ended his career. He was sentenced to 28 months in jail for conspiring to supply illegal drugs in 2011. I wonder what he is doing now? Is he living in Nottingham I wonder?

@Dripsey3 I actually knew this, I have a sticker book of the World Cup and it says he plays for Notts.

My grandfather used to collect them.
