Macclesfield Town wound up in High Court

This is terrible news. I thought something would change for them, they've been signing a load of players and announcing them, only the other day I was following who they were signing out of interest.

Gutted for their fans, we've teetered on the edge so many times, looking into the abyss, it'd be soul destroying to actually fall into it.

This is going to be the first of many if something is not done soon. A lot of clubs will no longer be able to function, lower/non league clubs don't have the luxury of vast somes of TV money to subsidise existence, they will just die and they will have to do it without their fans watching.

Very sad. That club has been run by a fantasist and a shyster for far too long - signing players left right and centre while not paying their debts and assuming that a winding-up order will be adjourned for the thirteenth(!) time just sums it up. And as for showing a screenshot of a bank statement in court ... mind-boggling incompetence, and the fans suffer as usual.

I face palmed when I read comments expressing sadness by people who wanted them to fold in order to save us. ????????‍♂️

The club got themselves into this state, hiring Sol Campbell incredibly silly for a club who were struggling financially. Only sympathy I have is for their fans, which I must admit is very limited considering the amount that gloated that we had been relegated.
