Encouraging people to use debit cards instead of cash is a good thing for obvious reasons, but in the longer term cash should remain an option. Some clubs in Germany have introduced a card that supporters can charge up to the nearest €5 or €10 and don't accept any other form of payment. Of course, the odd euro ends up remaining on the card, which the club ultimately trousers. In our case, a notice saying "please pay by card if possible" or even a small discount would be perfectly fine.

Entry to the Lane has been a strange one IMO for a while now. When Hardy made the move to cashless turnstiles, the usual uproar occurred, but overall went well...apart from the massive queue at the ticket office now.

Id start in reverse by making some turnstiles bar code readers only. Have a member of staff on hand to help cover issues, but a quick swipe of season ticket and you’re in.

Regards the queues at the ticket office...there is surely a better option than what we have now? Although can’t think of one off the top of my head (but that might be down to blinding headache!)

Cashless is surely the way forwards now? Even have contactless turnstiles for people to go through and ticket printed on the spot or display screen and choose seat, wave the phone near it and boom. Ticket done.

Or alternatively a club payment card which could be loaded up as mentioned above. That would solve bar issues, food issues and entry issues if seat selection was included.

If one could share with the cricket club, and F*rest, movable ticket collection machines (say like the fixed ticket machines at railway stations)... movable being they can be used at Notts, F*rest, cricket matches, so the capital cost of them are shared. Enter a code to collect the ticket or choose seats from a stadium grid. Yes, to @Feral Fox re floating turnstile helper ( though need to be careful that adults don't buy a child ticket to get through)

If you learn something from every game, there shall come a point in time, when you should never lose... Jimmy Sirrel

Fans have been asking the club to get with the times with regards to non cash payments for years, it shouldn't be the current pandemic pushing this but hopefully sense starts to apply itself with the club a little from here.

The queues at the ticket office are a pain. Especially when you turn up late from the railway station and have to traipse all the way to the ticket office, and then back to the Kop. Not everyone has a printer at home! The system we have is OK most of the time (most people have season tickets anyway), but it would be nice to be able to scan a bar code on your phone, and it would be good to have the option to actually buy tickets in at least one turnstile per stand instead of clogging up the ticket office. If we want to attract more casual fans, we need to make the process of buying a ticket as simple as possible.

with the ability to make non contact payments, it could speed things up and there is a lot of other things the club could do to modernise the service and keep costs down. i would hope they start to look at our catering facilities in the stands and bring card payments to all of them.

the equipment being newer could also improve thing massively.
