I mean players by the way!

After reading that Liddle might be out for a perlonged period, I think maybe it's time shaun released a few of the players who haven't contributed and tried to wrangle a few players coming in which he owns rather than loans.

Thoughts on who to release and why?

upthepies started a similar discussion, though I think refreshing the debate will add sparks (especially considering I said I hope we didn't gut the squad so much). Haha!

Just in case your curious what was said... Here's that discussion.

No comment here...

Yes exactly, with Freeman going back it refreshes things currently.

Dumbuya seemed to gain praise, it would be interesting to know how he got on. We need to juggle the boat a little, yes we can survive the drop but this means undoing our recent success and perhaps we will need to adjust to waiting to get back into League One. I really don't see us walking it!

Hopefully Derry will avoid 33+ year old's but finds some to balance out our inexperience.

Mind you if youths are good enough, they'll do the job. I just don't think we can expect to see players like Grealish and McGregor coming in all the time, hopefully some fringe championship players will be getting shoved out the door of their clubs who could do a job here.

Thought Dumbuya wasn't great but I am a big fan of him and the fact he'd only trained once with us in about 2 months showed a bit.

I'd imagine a lot of people will say the likes of Arquin and Labadie to go, which is a shame because i think Arquin especailly is better than a lot of the other options we have in that position. The fact both haven't featured in a while (although Joss was on the bench today and was possibly previously injured) and Derry saying some players won't be playing again for us makes me think Derry doesn't rate them.

Hopefully he has some players lined up that can improve the side, there's no point in letting either of them go to bring in a random young premiership reserve player to sit on the bench imo.

I do not see the point of bringing in loan players, just to haveΒ a bum on the bench. Don't do it, save the money and use it to better effect. if we have to fill the bench with our youngsters and blood them a little.

The best way for them to get better at this level is to play at this level.

The beauty of this game is everyone sees it differently!

For me Labadie and Arquin would be first out if the door, followed closely by fotheringham (when we have a suita le replacement for Lids),Haworth and even Manny Smith if he isn't good enough to play now then he never will be!

I would also let ball go back along with the othet middle man if hes not getting a game.

We have our own players such as tempest who desrve a chance.

Enoch? Still like him or am I old fashioned in the view that Notts do need a big man on the fiels.

It's alright saying to get rid of Labadie and Arquin, but imo Labadie is better than Fotheringham (which isn't saying much) and therefore we don't have too much better than him at the club at the moment, Liddle being out for so long means unless we bring in another proven League 1 midfielder it would be foolish to let him go. Likewise with Arquin, Murray has done ok but I don't see him as a long term option, Haynes is a waste of space and Ball isn't our player, that pretty much leaves us with Coombes *shudders* and Arquin.

Enoch is useful enough and has done ok in the few chances he's had this season, he looked decent enough at the start of the season and scored against Sheffield United, since then the only goalscoring chances he's had in his cameo's have hit the woodwork or gone just wide.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Haber in January, Stevenage don't want him it would seem but i'd certainly take him off their hands and he'd probably be first choice based on how he was playing until he got sent off.

Agreed on Labadie and Fotheringham being released only if we have a better replacement signed up, not just 'in discussions' and then doesn't sign leaving us up the creek as has happened before.

Haynes will come good if the right pairing comes along. In my opinion, he'd do well with Enoch in a 2 up front or just behind a big man like Mac does now. If he has to return to Celtic, then I would drop him in the hole behind Enoch.

I wouldn't know who to get rid of to be honest but there is a few players that haven't played for a while. I know we need back ups but there is too many players that we have in certain positions.
