Why the clocks should not go back in October, as it will save lives

I can't comprehend this, I am sure everything that happens in life has a knock on effect but singling out turning clocks back - right now to me falls inline with the cancel movement etc.

Surely, there's better means to spread awareness - instead of claiming a simple clocks change brings about death.

I think there are arguments to be had for both sides of it. When the clocks go back you do get another hour of sunlight in the morning, but it's dark again so quickly it always struck me as a pointless exercise.

The accident statistic always leaves me shaking my head, as all it will mean is that the shift will move to mornings, especially with kids having to go to school in the dark. At least the current system leaves most children travelling to and from school in daylight hours. That hour in winter makes very little difference.

Personally I'm not too fussed either way, but would be definitely in favour of having a double summer time (like they had for the 2nd World War) during the months May to August in order to maximise daylight hours in the summer.

To me, it suggests other means should be explored to keep people safe - rather than blaming a clock change.

I think some just look for faults and, have something to campaign about.

@DangerousSausage I've never given it much thought and, it's never actually bothered me to set any clock back.

However, I do wonder if these people got their wishes - how would things change in the long term? Deaths most likely will still occur.

I don't think it matters in all honesty.
