  1. I think he will make a decent coach, so it seems to be a good thing for both parties. Good luck, Jon Stead.
  2. When I read who he had joined, I thought they sounded Turkish. I hate seeing good players joining obscure teams, but I'm saying that it's a good chance for him to be spotted by bigger clubs. The Turkish league often gets scouts from France and Italy, so there's that. I wish him well, he's too good to be playing there for too long.
  3. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @MagpieRob. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  4. Ah, playing the Romanic card, huh? Nice. I hope you dressed up all smart and fancy. Providing the dual services of a chef and a waiter for Mrs. Tone.
  5. I feel the same about how many managers were compared to Jimmy Sirrel or connected to him, just in an effort to get people on-side. I think Shaun Derry could be a good manager; he was restricted quite heavily at Notts, the loans were most likely due to budget restraints. The good old, "I won't put money into the club due to a lack of support". https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/20959480 Personally, I feel he would have taken Notts straight back up if he remained in charged. Likewise, if we hadn't sacked Ricardo Moniz we would have done much betetr that season in the long term.
  6. I think Luke Williams gives a very detailed and thoughtful interview. I agree he looks upset, and I think it's better we had experience this than if we hadn't. I mean, that's what a pre-season friendly is for, and it's hardly the end of the world. Connell Rawlinson did well when he came on. I think he showed his experience and although Stoke wasn't the same as they were in the first half - it does show us that Rawlinson can help organise the defence. We won't have this issue in the season, because we will be playing a settled squad which should be our best XI. However, this is the reason why some managers don't play youth players until they're clearly ready. Luke will refrain from giving a nudge to the small minority of supporters who vocalise negativity at games due to simple mistakes. There's just no need to shout at the players; it's laughable how obsessed some get when it comes to throwing their toys out of the pram.
  7. Firstly, good luck to Archie Mair I think he's made a sensible decision by joining Gateshead. I think they will give him the platform to start showing more of his full potential, as I believe he has a bright future. However, I don't think he's ready to be a regular number one at any level higher. He needs a lot more growth and confidence, I do think he will get there, but I don't think he would replace Sam Slocombe any time soon. I think Notts signing Aidan Brooks, is the club seeing a keeper that just needs a bit of help and may take the number one position, with Tiernan Brooks being the backup and future number one.
  8. *Fires up Google earth... Where was my invite? I hope you had a nice time. We had a lot of on and off rain here, I managed to go see @super_ram but I didn't go for a walk with my brother because I felt tired. Kate keeps saying we should have a BBQ.
  9. It does my head in, I can understand a little upset but the level of nonsense I heard at the Stoke friendly really annoyed me. Witnessing a presumed fan, who appeared to be in his fifties, yelling at Aidan Stone, vocally expressing discontent about our goalkeepers and questioning Luke Williams' decision-making, even going on to predict our relegation, is a pitiful overreaction to a friendly match loss against a highly skilled team. I don't think we have two **it keepers. We won't get relegated because the squad works hard, so I don't see the need for this behaviour, and I'm not sorry, I will say something. I'm sick of my enjoyment of games being ruined by people who are mindless, childish and just outright deluded.
  10. I hope it's an option in the concourse area of the KOP, I don't drink in the MLSB. Thanks, Tony.
  11. I heard a lot of complaints in the stands, a few people got the better of me and I stood up to their stupid comments. I really couldn't believe it when I heard a fan say "we have two ***t keepers now, what is Luke Williams thinking, even I could do better than that." Stoke City played well and showed some real quality. I felt sorry for Aidan Stone because there was little he could do with most of the goals in my opinion. I think any keeper may have struggled, because the chances they had were very much on point. If anyone thinks we'll be relegated because of losing to Stoke in a pre-season friendly, please don't go to Meadow Lane. Your negativity is exactly what holds this club back and your opinions way about as much sense as it does to walk off a cliff with no parachute. Randall was fine, but Jodi is exceptional. Cisse is class. I wished Luke Williams had started what he believed would be his XI going into the season. There were many positives to take a way, yes, we could have done better, but I think Williams decision to include youngsters from the start is commendable.
  12. I used to buy them for most games and, I think it would be a real shame if the club stopped producing them. However, I stopped buying them a few seasons ago, mostly because I didn't feel the quality was there. The first several pages are great, but then much of the content isn't to that standard. While I appreciate the effort put into current programs, I can't help but reminisce about the Trew era and long for its exceptional programming quality. I would read everything, now I would only be bothered about the first few pages. Notts came 2nd with their programme last season, which is great news. However, not many other clubs dedicate as much time to their programme as Notts does. This doesn't diminish the efforts of other clubs though. Reducing the pages makes sense; I just hope it's not filled with filler but quality.
  13. Friday, I wished early on PON and decided to go see my dad. It was a surprise visit. I didn't tell him I was going, and he said that he hadn't long woken up from a nap. We talked for a while, before I came home. Today, I went to collect my new away shirt, fetched my friendly tickets and watched a game of two halves. I really enjoyed being back at Meadow Lane, even though there were a few things before the game that could have easily put me in a bad mood. It was nice to see so many fans that I hadn't seen for a while, which is always great. Sunday, I will hopefully be going for a walk with my brother and then to see @super_ram.
  14. I really like the away shirt, that's what we've gone for. Myself, Jake and Cal are all in agreement that blue is the shirt we needed to get. I'm still not keen on the home shirt; I don't think it's bad, but it's not quite up there in terms of what appeals to me. It surprised me that some fans expressed that they didn't like it. Everyone has their own taste I suppose.
  15. Fans have wanted to be able to pay by card for years, now it's here, it makes sense to make it card only. I don't know what drinks the club has to offer; it would be nice to know if they sell a cider or something. I don't like larger, it's worse than beer.
  16. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. It's great to have you here; your order has been processed. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  17. Thank you, Lewis. This is a wonderful read and I'm honoured that you asked me. I wish you well with your blog, you never know it might take off and you end up doing a full one. You've got my full support! Thanks again, @TheSkipper.
  18. Hello, @rohan. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. I hope you enjoy being a part of our Notts County community.
  19. I've seen it before, it's very funny. There are two more clips that I have seen of the same dog celebrating goals. One where it runs into the television after the team scores what sounds to be a great goal and the other it starts jumping with its front legs, barking every time the commentator says "goal". Haha
  20. Why is he only saying this now? Their staff praised Notts fans, whilst Chesterfield fans tried to claim we were trying to cause trouble. Many of the Chesterfield fans who went by coaches and mini buses were drinking and trying to cause trouble on the way to Wembley. Their own self-incriminating videos proved this, but it's really a thing of the past. It's a local derby and a massive game for both clubs, what does he expect? If this is the type of BS that they need to create in order to fire themselves up for what should be an easy campaign on paper. Well, they're only creating a laughable image in my eyes. Every Forest fan that I went near going to Wembley showed better respect for themselves, than Chesterfield fans did.
  21. Home looks inverted and not so pleasing to the eyes. I don't personally like the black on white stripes. The away shirt looks very nice, I'll be getting that. I wasn't a huge fan of last season's home shirt, but it's massively grown on me. This year, I can safely say it won't. All that matters is that the players can perform in it, get the results we needed, and hopefully we can go back to tradition after.
  22. Code can be copyrighted. Functionality and design are a bit more tricky, because the UI of Twitter isn't revolutionary. Most likely if Elon Musk is to gain a small victory here, most likely an agreement will be sorted outside of court. I think Mark Zuckerberg could easily argue that Twitter rips off his intellectual property. Facebook was created in 2004. Its concept is a larger scaled MySpace type site but had little closeness to that platform. Twitter, on the other hand, is a dumbed down Facebook. which was founded 2 years later. It takes elements from the Facebook UI, as if the inspiration was to make a lightweight version of the social media platform. Musk should be careful playing with fire, as he's still responsible for the creators of Twitter mistakes. Either way, it's going to come across as a childish fight with both just wasting time.
  23. For about 4 years, @cheeky~k8 has been struggling with her hearing. Initially, it was tolerable, but as time went on, my worries grew exponentially. For three years, Kate tirelessly sought answers to the cause of her recurrent ear infections, as well as the debilitating symptoms of headaches and dizziness. Obtaining medication for her ear infections has always been a struggle; however, a year and a half ago she began receiving antibiotics. ENT instantly discharged her about 2 years ago, saying it was "just hearing loss." Unfortunately, we recently found out that Kate does have permanent hearing loss and there's nothing that can be done. The only thing which will improve and keep her lifestyle the way it should be, is to have hearing aids. The NHS don't easily give these, they also wouldn't help with avoiding the chances of dementia, depression and complete hearing loss. What's this got to do with my dad? ❤ He's kindly paid for the hearing aids, so that things improve to the standard it can and avoid further damage. I told @GrannyPie earlier by her grave and I felt as if she was telling me to insist Kate isn't so stubborn with being throbbed off. I am grateful to my dad and Hidden Hearing for helping Kate and finally discovering what has been happening. Though the doctors and NHS could have done better. I couldn't imagine having headaches and migraines for 11 years, 4 of which have been bad with the hearing loss. Can I get some round of applause for the real hero?
  24. Sutton will be ready and up for the game; it's for us to show we have learned and improved since the last time we played them. Yes, we are a different team, but they have changed too. They know how to stop teams playing, so we'll need to be at our best. I also think the fixtures have formed a nice group of games that leads to the next phrase quite nicely for us. I don't think we will be looking at any fixture and thinking, we can't beat them. At the same time, the coaching staff and Luke Williams won't allow the squad to underestimate them. I would be happy 9–12 points from the opening games.
  25. I wouldn't play any of the squad that was out of Nuneaton Borough due to injury, no matter how small of a concern it may be. We should stick with Aidan Stone in goal; I would like to see him under a little more threat on goal. I would opt for a starting line-up that closely aligns with my vision of the ideal Notts XI for the upcoming League Two season. Perhaps I could consider including one or two players whom I'm still uncertain about, while keeping the rest on the bench. Yet, I do think it's going to be another game of two different squads.
