  1. I can't say I'm fussed either way, good player but one who could be replaced without losing sleep. His attitude and desire are a big thing however, so those qualities would be missed - there's no doubt he is one of those players who resonate well with any club but personally, if he goes or stays it makes little difference to me.
  2. I think his mission should personally be to bring stability and remain at the helm of manager for his whole contract duration (but that sounds less exciting and probably wouldn't motivate as many fans) but as an whole, he's staying the right things and ticking the right boxes. The more I speak to people, the more I feel he can be the person to deliver the stability we require. Would love to see Notts storm the league but I will take things if and when they come. COYP!
  3. I still hold my reserved opinion on him, however like @ohstanleyaborah has said inside the forum he's possibly the best candidate we had on paper. I'm not sure about the Danish U21 manager who had been linked with us? He's got experience for sure but it's not a shout out situation. Good luck to him.
  4. The list largely makes sense for the right reasons - there are a couple of surprises, no major shocks but this said I am pleased Blair Adams is no longer a Notts player. He just never did anything, plus he always managed to find his way into the selection, I just hope for better next time.
  5. I don't see Martin Allen returning, I'll keep saying this but I'd love to see him back at Meadow Lane. I think Notts know just how much someone like him could win over fans again, plus he knows League Two well. Paul Hurst is okay, out of a bad bunch - he does stand out for the right reasons.
  6. Sorry, it wasn't 'uncertainty'. At least in my opinion, Mansfield was a soul destroyer and I'm sure certain things didn't help but really people should admit the side just wasn't pulling together or playing to the best standard that they could. Majority of professionals can work under difficult circumstances, people who know they're about to lose their jobs for example. Only a handful of players wanted to turn the season around, lack of desire and passion meant it became intangible.
  7. *Sigh of relief (good one for once). I didn't fancy either of these, Notts must make a strong decision and appoint someone who can help us forget about this past season - regardless of who the owner may or may not be. @Spie you would be lucky! COYP
  8. I hope we go for experience and not a chance, any risk towards someone who may not be able to change the circumstances - well, it would create negativity we don't need. Appoint a sensible manager, one who's got a worthy record and track history for this division. Ideally someone who can take the reigns for a few years, bring stability and can manager above League Two.
  9. Notts County's last game of the 2015-16 League Two season saw Mark Cooper's side take on Keith Curle's Carlisle United at Meadow Lane. As it turned out, the Magpies did not have a good game, falling to a 5-0 defeat which was followed by Cooper leaving the club for pastures new. Pride of Nottingham spoke to a number of fans before the game and asked them a number of questions, including whether they were looking forward to the end of the season. -- Pride of Nottingham's Notts-Joe and Joe Jones prior to the Cambridge United game on the 23/04/2016 took to asking Magpie' fans key questions. 10. It's been heartbreaking seeing fans worrying over things we shouldn't be experiencing really, the days of limited resources and pulling together as a community are over - there's no need for us to save the club but basics must start being perfected. We need to be able to forward, I am sure the majority will get on board for next season in various ways but we need to learn. Concerns for relegation should be dismissed by our pre-season approach, the players we sign and how we start the season. Good luck to whoever comes in.
  11. *Sigh... I still don't blame him, he's got a career and a history with Forest Green Rovers. If he didn't fancy remaining at the club, that is his decision as fans we need to move on and support whoever does come in. The direction of Notts is a concern to fans, so as a manager it will be too. There's still a lot of conflicting reports on if he hit the points target or not, yet at this stage it doesn't matter.
  12. You got straight to the point, with some humour inserts which made it very enjoyable to read and yes, Notts have to get their act together. If the club doesn't change hands, we need to find the right balance for direction and come together - put differences a-side and try to move forward in the right way. If this can't be done, I'll be fearful for next season. I really am, but this season shouldn't be one which defines us. It should be one which we strive towards improving from.
  13. Just woeful, I can't say much more but I felt Snidjers did well going forward - very unselfish and tried. I doubt many will give him credit, however I believe he deserves it. No one else looked likely do anything at all.
  14. Well, I'm optimistic about the potential result and I wasn't before the start of this past week. I hope Cooper remains, we have a good manager in him (one who know's this division and the next). Someone really ideal to bring a bit of stability but really, we just need to see the players end the season well. Avoid any drama, today should be a day to remember with J&J being back. 2-0 (Notts) or 1-1.
  15. Hopefully he remains because he show signs that he has the ability to do well, which is more than can be said about some of the prior people before him. If he goes, I'll be one of many disappointed fans but I would wish him well.
  16. I'm actually really looking forward to the game, which I am fairly optimistic about. Leading up to the last two games, I felt we would struggle to get 1 point but it's this one which I felt would be a lost cause. Notts just need to put in a steady performance, a draw wouldn't be a bad result but how the players play is everything. Carlisle will be looking to get a result, they outclassed us last time and pretty much know how to be direct against us - it will be a good measure of Cooper's understanding to see how he combats this. Most my disagree, however I would keep Carroll. I like Loach but he's a little soft and lacks a commanding voice. I think if Loach could find the middle ground, his confidence would rocket in my opinion but it all depends how the people in front do. I just think we'll be stronger with Roy in between the sticks. COYP!
  17. Forget pitch quality, go back to the primal urge to compete and win. I really can't say I could have seen myself being any different had I have not been injured and actually made the professional grade - there's a lot to say about working together and having your team mates backs also. Notts should be more direct and less fearful of the opposition. Simple as that.
  18. And look how that worked out for Jamie Fullarton.... Regardless of points, Cooper has demonstrated what he can bring to the club - I would hate for him to leave and the same effect as Cotterill's departure takes hold. He's worth the contract....
  19. And on Saturday, it's Banana fritters on me!
  20. Pleased for the goalscorer who's worked his socks off for the community and deserves the run in the first team. I wonder who that is?
  21. We could do with seeing more energy up front, if Stead and McLeod are seriously injured - our best option is to find someone with pace. If Alan Smith starts there again, I'll go into despair.
  22. I would hope for more than 'a bit of quality'. The silver lining is that we are only two games a way from the seasons end. Where hopefully we can extend Cooper's deal, find the right players and see everything else fall into place.
  23. It's rumoured to be 4 points but I don't anyone will ever really know for sure. Despite the blips, plus the mistake highlighted by @Drivingmenotts (playing 3 defenders against Mansfield) - I still feel he's worth a contract now, as he shows a good understanding, he knows how to setup a squad and he's vastly better than the other rumour circling around (ex Mansfield manager). Yet I would hope the stalling takeover is resolved, however much unlikely it would seem.
  24. When I first was told about this, I thought it was probably for the best - however I now think it sounds like a messy divorce and not something you would see in football. Cooper's in the right but I'm not sure it's best for it to be aired in the media, there's no doubt Liam Noble's played his part and will now move on.
