  1. Painful and when the trouble kicked off, @magpiejue was caught in the middle of it - her mother is injured (elderly lady). I expected trouble but not from our own, it's just frustrating and wrong on so many levels. At this stage I'm not bothered it's 4-0 to Mansfield (fair play to them). But I'm concerned for any fans caught up in the stupidity.
  2. Expected better myself but a goal can change that, Notts must add pressure onto the Stags but it goes to show what early goes can do.
  3. I have a very good feeling about the game tomorrow, which it has come at the right time - Mark Coopers progressing with the squad and things are on the up. All we have to do is keep focused and make 'em pay! COYP
  4. I hope it's not Arsenal v Spurs (2-2) or most recently Sunderland v Newcastle (1-1). Both of which had bad moments, although Notts playing in style like Arsenal did or Spurs wouldn't be missed. Just avoid fights and cards!
  5. I think we have every chance in continuing our form, so although a win would be my prediction - a draw wouldn't be bad. This said, we must go out and continue playing as a team. We will require organization and discipline, as I do think it will be lively and Mansfield already played to a way which broke us down. We managed to turn that around in the cup game after, however on home soil I think they'll want to do the double this season. Just keep Noble a way from disagreements, play the ball calmly but move it quickly - things should click. I'm confident that our fans will be rewarded.
  6. I like modest people, it's a good trait - so much better than coming across like the big I am. Team players will do this, however really, he deserves a lot of the credit because we would be in a different scenario if he hadn't accepted the position (the second time around). It's been awhile since I've actually enjoyed listening to what the manager has to say about matters. So he deserves credit because it's due.
  7. Majority of Notts fans would love to see Noble remain, no doubt he's one of our better players when he's performing well. Yet even when he doesn't he's worth a place on the bench, as he has the ability to change games and is one of the better passers in the lower leagues. I do think his set pieces have been poor, however so has the majority of players. Sign him up Notts!
  8. Firstly, I would like to say - I hope there's no trouble between fans (I'm expecting it because of things I'm reading/hearing). I'm quite confident now, it's the wrong time from the Stags point of view for us to be improving - I'm sure @Dan feels the same way. I just hope the games entertaining and everything which the first home game should have been. I think either side could easily win it, however I am more confident for us because we seem a much different side under Cooper. COYP
  9. Another good performance by Notts. I'm very pleased to be reading the comments and seeing how different things are right now. It's vastly promising! For the difference made so quickly at the helm of Cooper, it just goes to show what difference it makes having the right person in charge. The players and fans are happy, which is long due this season. COYP!!
  10. Goooooooaaallll!! Jon Stead!! 1-0 Notts
  11. Just need to take a little longer when it comes to finishing, build up play is good but just need that spark. Hartlepool have the potential to trouble us, so scoring early in the second half would be helpful for Notts.
  12. Typically a bogey team for us. Hartlepool do well working with young players, they just require a bit of experience at times but they have a very respectable midfield which can break teams down when the defence pulls their weight. I think it should be a good game, so let's hope we can grab a second home win. COYP!
  13. The thing is, as I said last time - if we let them play, they'll do well. Their midfield is packed with hard workers and they have good options up top, a fairly decent keeper but they have a woeful defence and if pressured directly they do buckle. For Notts, it's all about keeping hold of the ball and bombarding their penalty box. Crosses can be key, as may high balls through the middle. McLeod (if played) could find time and his confidence back because someone like him could make their CB's nervous. COYP
  14. There's a lot going around the rumour mill, I think the majority people read between the lines. He's said that he wants to stay etc, so really it's for us to make it clear a contract has been offered - I mean he's improved vastly and although his performances as of late haven't been up to scratch. I personally think much of this comes from the lack of confidence and the environment of Jamie Fullarton's management. If we lost both Cooper and Noble, it would be a major shame when in fact Notts desperately seek 'stability'.
  15. Mark Cooper secured Notts County's first home win of 2016, and first under his reign, as a much improved magpies' score late goal against Stevenage. Jon Stead volleyed home for magpies' in the first half, however his spectator effort was ruled offside. Stevenage's Fraser Franks produced their best best chance of the game from Chris Whepldale's free-kick, but Notts keeper Scott Loach saved superbly. With time running out, Liam Noble rifled into the corner from the edge of the area to give County the points. The defeat left Stevenage 22nd in the table, but nine points clear of the relegation places with five games remaining, while County climbed to 18th. 16. I loved hearing stories about his scouting methods, even today I often have various fans tell me stories of him. Scouting a player long term really does give a bigger picture, as you see their flaws more clearly and I do believe every manager should join in with the scouting. Jimmy spoke gold, which is clear by how successful he was that it worked.

  19. What a big result! It may have ended 1-0 but we deserved more. Good performance from a squad who did so together, as a unit. Noble's also deserved s goal, fingers crossed a contact follows and his confidence is lifted. Pleased overall, so hope it continues. COYP
  20. I heard the Kop chant to Fullarton several times - always asking for a wave, all received boo's. Some will say fans didn't give JF a chance, but he didn't try to win anyone over a way from the press box. Mark Cooper acknowledging the fans shows how support can be a big thing. It encouraged the kop even more, and although it seems small - I think the relationship between fan and manager is important. In Cooper we trust!
  21. Think for once we can go with some real confidence, Cooper could turn around our fortunes again Hartlepool - we very rarely manage a good result against 'em.
  22. The performance was good, each player working for the squad and its certainly much more promising under Cooper. For me, the attacking play just needs to pause at the key moments, we waste the excellent build-up play. If we just took a little more time, I think our finishing would he better. 3 goals two of which was disallowed. I can't fault it. We look reasonable in defence, midfield strong and chances up top. COYP
  23. We just need to calm it down, then take our time with the finishing. Just had a goal disallowed whilst writing this! Good goal, just a shame it was offside COYP
  24. At least it gives Cooper a proper chance to check out the depth of squad, now's the time review and make 'em fight to be seen 'as good enough'. Good core, so not much building requires but some will have to take this chance. COYP!
