  1. Happy Birthday, dad. I'll call you later! x Try to have a wonderful day with William, Vicky, Harry and Luna. Also, enjoy your birthday present!
  2. Very good prospect, one area of the pitch we have tended to produce good talent, but honestly I feel we'll just loan him out before he ends up being let go. I would love for this to be wrong, yet I just don't see how he will gain the experience needed. More than anything it's just to have faith in his ability, but just because I write this - it doesn't mean I don't rate him.
  3. Yes, he tried to speak with the officials. Who I am told dismissed him, which made him respond with some chosen words which continued into the tunnel.
  4. I know we should've had 2 maybe 3 penalties. I can't remember if it was the Chicksen one which I agreed with, the Langstaff was all day long. My memories become a little foggy now, but I recorded the game. I'll re-watch it sometime, but the officials were dire.
  5. @Fan of Big Tone would you please PM or e-mail me? Thank you for posting those lovely words. My mum would appreciate it, as will my dad.
  6. Frustrating game, I thought we were by far the better team, but unfortunately that doesn't win matches - Notts must stop giving sloppy goals away. I have always felt that it would come back to punish us, that said our unbeaten run felt incredible. Very rarely do I moan about referees, although today's seemed absolutely dire! Honestly, I feel without him, we would've won that game and, I know we had chances which should've been taken - whilst I reflect on the types of goals we conceded. We never seemed likely to cope with the poor officiating, sadly for us, it is one of those games and nothing we can do but regroup. Some have expressed that they felt we deserved four penalties, two were absolute clear. Langstaff being pulled down by the throat, should've been given all day. There's no excuse for missing that, even the assistant referee of that side can say it was hard to see. Notts have now got to show their real character and bounce back, I think it will happen and, I'm not concerned that the games are going to be pointed at - as if this is where we lost the league. For heaven’s sake, we're in a promotion race and the lads will do whatever it takes to keep this the case.
  7. It's going to be intresting since they sacked their manager last night, I am not sure what that means for us. I just hope they don't get someone who thinks kicking long balls and being rough will tempoarily fill the managerial gap. They could play some decent football, which is why I am even more surprised Daryl McMahon has been let go. Notts just needs to avoid anything that may slow down the game, keep the ball close and work it into spaces. I am sure we have the creativity to break them down, or even just create good chances. I do think we'll pick up a 2-0 win. 4 more goals would be nice but I honestly feel Dagenham & Redbrdige will make it difficult.
  8. The main purposes of the proposed new regulator will be: Stopping English clubs from joining closed-shop competitions, which are judged to harm the domestic game Preventing a repeat of financial failings seen at numerous clubs, notably the collapses of Bury and Macclesfield Introducing a more stringent owners' and directors' test to protect clubs and fans Giving fans power to stop owners changing a club's name, badge and traditional kit colours Ensuring a fair distribution of money filters down the English football pyramid from the Premier League I especially like the outlined points. No English club should be allowed to join any competition which the FA/Clubs don't approve. The financial side needs exploring more. I personally think it will be hard to completely get rid of, so having some kind of fund collected maybe through TV rights or annual fees could go towards building such a fund to provide some kind of security. Vetting owners is a difficult one. It's one thing checking if a potential owner has the money to fund a club - I don't think they factor in what happens if a smaller club grows too quickly without the right backing. Yet someone may have the funds for 3-5 seasons and bankruptcy is another obstacle to navigate. My point is, whatever is done needs to apply common sense and at least factor in the worst case scenario. I am all for giving fans the power to have a say within their club, but I wonder how this would be handled. If you gave season ticket holders a vote, you would make those overseas or otherwise unable to attend to vote disgruntled. Public voting also has the risk of being hi-jacked by nefarious people. If you create a committee or operate it through a fan group, it's not really fair either. Proving to be something with good intentions, but ultimately difficult to apply practically. This for me is the easiest and most practical point, how money filters down the football pyramid. Even to the grass root levels, if we as a nation are to compete with other developed nations - we need to do more in this area to ensure success. There's been striving for at least a decade with the likes of Basford and Anorld Town - yet it doesn't quite filter below. If we're just speaking about 'Football League' I would be disappointed. A percentage should be assigned to funnel down, guaranteeing a certain amount for the lower tier teams. I don't think Championship teams are hard off; it's League One and Two that suffers the most.
  9. Bristol City 2-2 Hull City Sheffield United 0-1 Watford Barnsley 0-0 Derby County Burton Albion 1-0 Accrington Stanley Doncaster Rovers 1-3 Bradford City (Joker) Mansfield Town 2-0 Salford City Halifax Town 0-1 Maidenhead United York City 1-1 Yeovil Town
  10. What are the Reedtz doing right? No doubt, one of the best sets of owners we have had since Derek Pavis.
  11. Good player, I will be keen to see how he does. Notts are starting to pick up the talent that others are wasting and, I am certain we can get the most out of him whilst under the loan deal. If there are plans to see him remain permanently, I think it will go down to how he does. It's nice to see the squad strengthening, but I would've thought a striker may have come in to assist with Scott's injury. Nonetheless, I am excited about the signing.
  12. @DangerousSausage Get well, soon DS! Somebody won't want you suffering. Remember, there's always stick to whack people. Or, a bag should be placed around you and then shook up (that was a favourite one). @menzinho It's becoming routine now, isn't it? I usually try to caution myself to say we need to avoid being complacent and while we do, it helps a lot that this squad is fired up right now. Another point I would like to add to your comment, I spoke to @Simon Clark and he put it across that we are pushing Wrexham by winning, whilst they're doing the same for Notts. I think the vast majority of fans feel like the away game against Wrexham will be crucial even though it's right near the end. Provided we keep winning and scoring early, the more pressure which will fall onto Wrexham.
  13. He did a lot more than Bridge did, although I can't say he impressed me enough on that one appearance. Southend did well as a team but well enough as individuals.
  14. They're right, it was a convincing win.
  15. Austin turned into Messi last night; his two goals were a real joy to witness. His taking on 6 players, without losing the ball - as he drifted out to the right side was a sheer delight. I am very proud of that performance. The Notts players did us proud; it was a great display against a good team.
  16. When speaking @callum2569 on the way to meet @super_pie, we spoke about our predictions and I said that I hoped the lads didn't let us down. Boy was I wrong. I have seen clinical comments about Southend being poor, they weren't - we just stopped them from gaining any sort of goalscoring momentum. I thought 2-0 to us was a realistic call, I didn't think those goals would come within 24 minutes of the first half. Southend actually just got undone by good play. Our first goal was a brilliant piece of play through the middle, for Langstaff to get onto and finish. Whereas Bostocks clever cross, it came from nothing - as did Austin's header. It was superbly timed and as Williams said after the game, doing that is such a brave thing to do. I am very pleased for Austin because he's a workhorse and has deserved a bit of the limelight. I never felt Southend would get back into the game with all due respect; we just made it harder and harder. When we took Langstaff off after his second goal, I was surprised how we continued our passing game. It was almost like a bit of exercise in retaining the ball and avoiding dropping that clean sheet we worked so hard to get. To end with another 4 goals, 12 in our last 3 games - it feels like we're truly battling to keep the top spot.
  17. Good result, but another crazy game. Imagine settling for the outcome of a draw, to then see the moment after that - a penalty is awarded. You think this should be enough to see out the game. Oh, no... Langstaff steps up to score two late goals, to continue our six-game undefeated run. Impressive to see Notts take the lead 4 minutes in, plus credit to Yeovil who aren't a bad side. Langstaff is a gem we have wanted for ages, to score a hat trick like this just amazes me. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the goals.
  18. He's a good player, one who once had a lot of promise, but personally I would rather try to sign Jodi Jones permanently. Jack Bridge is in need to revive his career, but I think that's what will happen at Southend. He should extend his stay there, which is where I think he's the most effective. Otherwise, I can see him bouncing around again; he's not the Wrexham type player either.
  19. It was clear as day Notts were being pressed back, as in the first half there were times when Barnet didn't even keep a defender back - just their keeper. It's something that very few teams can maintain for 90 minutes; only top elite teams can. Their gameplay was to peg us back and to get a second, which is why they started making changes before we scored. Their manager could see the balance shifting, so he added pace, which is something that we struggle with a fair bit. Yet when Jodi Jones came on, they found it a lot more difficult to break us down via that side. Hence, why I didn't think Adebayo-Rowling did anything but above average in terms of performance. Certainly no better than Palmer. For us to adjust to how Barnet were playing, we would have had to either break through with a goal which would've forced them to change their plans, get a different player on or stop rushing our play.
  20. I thought he did okay, but seemed guilty of hogging the ball for Barnet. At least in the first half, that said he's young enough.
  21. It's hard work that has taken a good Notts squad to the top of the table, nobody would've thought it and I don't think anyone can genuinely say that they felt we would see be where we are. I predicted a good start, even breaking records but in truth I did feel the likelihood of us falling further down is more than likely. The morale in our camp right now is on another level, when you get every player, including those on the bench - fighting, only good things will happen. Considering every time we draw or go 2nd, I hear fans comment that we won't catch Wrexham but believe Chesterfield can. It would suggest that some areas don't have enough faith. Promotion is a must this season, but failing to do so - we can still hold our heads up high. This is the hardest league to escape; we're in a good position to further progress the football pyramid. Take this squad to League One, tweak the fringe players with better quality and we'll be fine. Obviously it relies on retaining players or replacing them, but this is why I feel next season we need to avoid gutting this squad. Doing a Craig Short will be the biggest back step, even more than failing to gain promotion during this campaign.
  22. Technically minded people will be able to bypass Netflix's IP, how many will be able or wanting to do this - I don't know. I would imagine more would simply just cancel, whilst a portion will just accept the changes. I still think its such a dramatic move, from a company who has encouraged this behaviour in the past not just in selected adverts but tweets. All people would have to do is by a small mini PC, install Ubuntu server 24 (or their preferred Linux distro). Bind a local IP to their machine, make sure that the device uses the same IP as what Netflix believes is the home internet. Install an open source script called Docker, then Portainer if you preferred a GUI instead of text commands. Then install and setup WireGuard, making sure that you expose the service to an outside connection. Simply download WireGuard app for your phone/laptop etc. If something that doesn't have apps, you would simply add the info manually. WireGuard will create a basic VPN that uses your home IP address, not safe beyond your home's access point - not in a true VPN way, but you are safe for this purpose. Any connected device will believe it's using your home internet. Therefore, Netflix is fooled, the tunnel cannot be detected because it's only a VPN for your house - not worldwide. Yet if someone went to all this just to stream outside, I would highly suggest people just look at Jellyfin, Plex or Emby. Stream your own content, be the master of your own viewership.
  23. We are experiencing some technical issues. I only apologise for the downtime which happened for the most part of today. Unfortunately, it might occur as things are being investigated.
  24. Two positives for me, the fact Dortmund stood by him [many clubs these days use stuff as an excuse to get rid of players] and the fact Haller dealt with his threat quickly after becoming ill. It's easy to dismiss things or put of seeking help, I'm glad he's able to speak so openly about something which is very sensitive
  25. Luke Williams is very diplomatic and flattering, it makes a change from opposition managers who find excuses and outright lie. Barnet played okay, good side but nothing special. Defensively, they always looked rather clumsy and that's why I feel it's a shame we allowed them into the game. In the first half, we didn't test them very much. Why should Notts have kicked the ball out for Barnet? They didn't for us, not just with Scott. The referee sussed that Barnet was time-wasting, even the assistant didn't flag for it.
