  1. Accrington Stanley wasn’t very good, but I think credit has to go to Notts for how they managed them. I don’t think we allowed them to get any strides or confidence going. Early on, even minutes in, we forced them to chase everything. It was a routine win but an excellent 90 minutes of football.

  2. To be fair, I think all the signings have settled in nicely, at least those who have played. Matty Platt and Jacob Bedeau are two quality defenders who bring a calm influence at the back. Bedeau has done well. I have been very impressed with his ability to go wide when needed and help push into attacking positions. His pass that set up David McGoldrick was a quality ball that just left Didzy to finish.

  3. From where I sat, neither of the first two goals looked dubious. The highlights suggest differently, but both sets of fans know how appalling the level of officiating is in League Two.

Taking the goals out of it, Notts were so much better than Grimsby, mainly due to the quality of Jones and Crowley. There was great support from two proper sets of fans. The attendance was 10,000, but it would have been 13,000 if not for Sky affecting the game.

  4. Come on Notts, let’s start with a win over Grimsby. It would be a good time to get those vital 3 points, which would push the club higher up the table. I think Stuart Maynard is showing good signs. Hopefully, the starting lineup can make it easier without needing changes to bring us back into the game.

  5. You're leading 2-0 at half-time, so I would expect Shrewsbury to come out determined to turn things around. Their manager might have given them a telling-off, or perhaps the frustration from their fans made the point clear. As the home team, I believe they should have fought to get back into the match. Once they scored, the momentum shifted in their favour, but they are still a League One team. Forcing penalties after being down 3-2 may be hard to accept, but it does deserve some recognition.

  6. We can’t really have any expectations until we’ve seen the team compete against several good clubs. However, I hope we do well against Tranmere. Their ground makes little difference if we travel in voice. If we are at our best as fans and create an encouraging atmosphere, we could out-sing them.

  7. It’s old news, but I’m surprised that Alex Kirk hasn’t found a club. I wonder if Bromley will pick him up? Their manager has said they would like him back. As for us, I would like a striker and an attacking midfielder. If the club could recruit two exciting players for these positions, I think we would have a strong squad to fight for promotion.

Some of our fans act like we’re a million miles away. They probably haven’t seen how the team has done in person during pre-season and are judging the results solely.

  8. Following any football club will always bring some disappointment. When we reflect on Macaulay Langstaff’s transfer, we should remember the moments and memories he gave us fans. For instance, his penalty kick at Wembley that helped us gain promotion, his 40+ goals in the National League, and all those rainy match days when we hoped to return to the Football League. Langstaff will always share a bond with Notts, and with us, the fans.

  9. I’d like to extend my best wishes to Connell Rawlinson. He’s made a valiant effort and has served us admirably. If only he were a tad quicker on his feet. He certainly has the defensive mindset, but his physical capabilities aren’t quite up to our standard now.

Absolutely @B&Wstripes I love seeing pictures of old Nottingham, however it’s slightly worrying when you can actually remember the place as it was in the photo. :panic:

There’s a website available that enables you to track historical changes. It’s quite popular among the Dead Road/Street communities. Observing these changes, particularly the shift from local shops to shopping centres, supermarkets, and retail outlets, can be disheartening. However, it can also be an interesting journey to embark on at times.

  11. The Magpie Brewery, conveniently located next door, could potentially collaborate with local businesses in Nottingham and even the wider East Midlands area. The Nest, in my opinion, is a significant accomplishment for the club. Providing us fans with our own space is truly commendable.

  12. Well, it could be similar to what happened with Luke Williams. It didn’t seem like he would be leaving until it actually happened. These things sometimes take a while, and just because there’s silence, it doesn’t mean something isn’t happening.

There could be more to this, or there might not be. I believe Notts will be able to find a striker who can score goals, but finding someone with Macaulay Langstaff’s ability and potential is less likely. That doesn’t mean we can’t find a good striker to step into his shoes. I just hope we can keep him because with him, I believe we could reach the Championship one day before he retires.

  13. The site is fine, as was the old one. There’s not much difference aside from the design and navigation. If it makes the online shop and other features more streamlined, then it will be a good thing. I just wish the ticketing system was better; even TicketMaster is dreadful.

  14. Italy is average. If we face them, it would be time to seek revenge for the unfair play and defeat we suffered the last time we played against them. Austria looks strong, but I don’t rate Switzerland highly as they seem overrated. They can perform well, but at times, they appear average. England stands a good chance of reaching another final; they just need to play as a team and reach their potential. The knockout stage is there for us if we can improve our performance.
