  1. @NottsTastic never considered that very good point
  2. @liampie people are also gonna use this to skive work due to quarantine and statutory sick pay being the guidelines
  3. China have reported a slowdown and as of yesterday only 5 people outside of Wuhan contracted it out of 119. Basic hygiene and flu prevention you should be fine. But given all the figures it's strange how they won't say the survival rate or recovery rate. Or even the age bracket/health issues those had who caught it. Given how many have caught it compared to deaths, the ratio is low.
  4. @upthepies the conspiracy theories surrounding it is incredible tbf look into some of them
  5. Shouldn't worry about it too much after all we've had all this before..
  6. This week, Notts County secured the signing of striker Kyle Wootton from Scunthorpe United having impressed during his loan spell at Meadow Lane this season. The striker signed a two and a half year deal with the fee rumoured to be around Β£60,000. Many Notts fans were delighted when the news emerged that the 23-year-old was signing on a permanent deal having been subject to much speculation during the Christmas period and the opening of the January transfer window. But just how impressive is the signing of Wootton and how will he have an impact of Notts Countys chances of gaining promotion back into the Football League? When he originally signed on loan from Scunthorpe United at the beginning of the season, there were a few fans sceptical as to how well he would actually do and wondering whether he was even required considering the likes of Nathan Tyson and Kristian Dennis still being at the club. But Neal Ardley, before signing Wootton, was said to be looking for a strong forward. Which many could say we needed considering the last season it’s something we was lacking. A strong forward with the ability to get past defenders. According to Notts County Stats (@Notts_Stats) on Twitter, Wootton has a goal every 188 minutes with an efficiency of 2.08 - only bettered by Wes Thomas (1.82) and Kristin Dennis (1.31). Though he went on an 8 game scoreless run between September and November, despite Notts winning 5, drawing 2 and losing just once during those games, Wooton has certainly now found his feet and seems like every time Notts get a goal this season and now it’s almost as if it's expected that his name will be there on the scoresheet. Wootton has netted 5 goals in his last 6 games including a brace in the fantastic comeback win against FC Halifax just before Christmas, which in turn was his third brace this season. Many Notts fans will say we haven’t really had a good striker since the days of Lee Hughes, but who knows, now Wootton has signed on a permanent deal, he might be the answer we’ve been looking for to get us goals and send us back to where we belong, in the Football League. 7. Last season was not a memorable one from a Notts County fan perspective. Relegation to the National League for the first time in our history, thus losing the title as the World's Oldest Football League Club. Hopefully we can bounce back at the first time of asking. But while we are playing in the National League, there's something for fans to look forward to, especially if you are a fan who loves to groundhop. Many fans have been ticking off grounds they have visited during our time in the Football League, but the prospect of seeing new grounds and visiting new places should be something to enjoy this season. The shortest journey during the National League season will be a trip to Chesterfield where Notts will renew their East Midlands rivalry with the Spirites for the first time since they were relegated from League Two during the 2017/18 season. Solihull Moors will be another short journey for the Notts fans with them situated in the West Midlands. There will be long journey's along the way for Notts fans during the upcoming season. A few trips to the coast and 4 trips down to London for the Magpies faithful. Coastal trips include journeys to places such as Ebbsfleet, Eastleigh, Fylde, Barrow, Torquay and Hartlepool. 4 of these 6 places will be new to many. Notts County fans will know Torquay, the last time these 2 clubs met was when Notts County won League Two during the 2009/10 season. Hartlepool will be another familiar foe for Notts having played them a couple seasons back. It is unclear as it stands with what will happen with Gateshead. There is problems on going at the club but if we are to be playing them next season, it will be the one of the longest journeys for the fans to travel up north. For fans that enjoy visiting new grounds and facing new teams, there will be a number of new grounds to tick off the list. Most grounds in the National League are not all seaters. Most grounds will have seating for less than half the capacity in which the grounds can hold. A trip for those fans who enjoy British history and culture will enjoy taking the trip down south when Notts face Dover Athletic. A trip to the Dover coast and seeing the historic White Cliffs of Dover which is one of the most famous landmark in British culture. A trip to Stockport County will be one that most will enjoy for the night life. Situated in the Greater Manchester county, it is only a 7 mile trip to the Manchester City Centre with most people suggesting is a great night life. For those that enjoy long walks in and around the country side, Harrogate and Halifax could be ideal with both being close to the Yorkshire dales. The most expensive trips will be to Barnet, Bromley, Dagenham and Redbridge and Sutton United. All 4 clubs situated in the capital, London. Whatever the season may bring on the pitch, off the pitch could be an enjoyable experience for the fans with new grounds, different places and different teams come visiting. Those fans who have the Groundhopper app or similar apps in which they tick there grounds off, it will be an experience for them. 9. League run not so good but could we make a good cup run? ????
  10. Normally I'm optimistic, more than I should, but as soon as that first goal went in I was dreading the rest of the half.
  11. Still no win however a clean sheet. Can only get better.

  15. Notts County went into the new League Two campaign as one of the pre-season promotion favourites following on from last season which saw the Magpies reach the playoffs defying all expections. There was a real hope last season with Notts riding high up the table, many tipping and even expecting them to go up automatically, but the form after Christmas left fans wondering if they would even make the playoffs, which they did only to beaten by eventual winners Coventry City. But 7 League games in to the new season, Notts are still yet to win a single game. They have now gone 9 games in all competitions without a win. Losing on penalties to Middlesbrough following a 3-3 draw after 90 mins in the EFL Cup. Losing 2-1 to Grimsby Town in the EFL Trophy despite showing a dominant first half display under new manager Harry Kewell. Notts invested heavily during the summer on recruits which was needed to boost the team to push on and get one step further than last season and achieve promotion. Kristian Dennis, Kane Hemmings and Enzio Boldewijn came in and fans were ecstatic about these signings as they have proven what they are capable of in League Two. David Vaughan and Andy Kellett were bought in for a bit of experience. Will Patching and Tom Crawford also arrived to bring some youth to the team. Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ben Hall returned on loan, Nathan Thomas were also new additions to the squad to add depth. Following on from poor defensive displays that cost Notts leads and points, Elliott Ward was drafted in to add a bit of stability to a frail defence. Rob Milsom also returned alongside Harry Kewell when he was announced as manager from Crawley Town. Notts haven't won a competitive fixture since the 21st of April 2018 when they beat Yeovil Town convincingly 4-1 at Meadow Lane. This season, from a defensive point of view, they have been shambolic, having conceded 21 goals in their first 7 league games, an average of 3 goals conceded per game. The last time Notts conceded 20+ goals after 7 games was all the way back in 1888-89 when they conceded 23. Fans have shown their frustrations in the club and players this season following on from poor displays. Many speculate that there is something going on behind the scenes that we aren't aware of that is affecting the team. During the summer, Shola Ameobi & Alan Smith left the club. Which begs the question, did they have some influence on & off the pitch? They have both got Premier League experience and we often seen them animated on and off the pitch last season. Nolan, Kewell and fans have also pointed out that the players don't seem to have enough energy to go the full 90 as they look like burning out after 60 minutes. Mike Edwards was Strength and Conditioning coach but departed from his role this summer, could this be a reason or is that just a coincidence? There is clearly something not quite right at this club, whatever it is it needs addressing and it needs addressing fast. The status of 'The World's Oldest Football League Club' hangs in the balance, it might be early doors yet but things need to start improving fast! 16. Notts County travel down to pre-season promotion favourites Exeter City at the weekend. In this game, Harry Kewell will take charge of the Magpies his first League Two game since being appointed manager at the end of August succeeding Kevin Nolan. Kewell's very first game holding the Notts reins was the 2-1 EFL Trophy defeat at Grimsby on Tuesday night which left the club still looking for a first win of the season. Notts currently sit rock bottom of the Football League, while the Grecians sit 9th in the table. St James' Park is currently undergoing ground improvements with Notts fans receiving a maximum ticket allocation of 378 and will be seated in covered seats in the Main Stand. There will be no away tickets available on matchday meaning that tickets must be purchased beforehand. Those that wish to buy a ticket can do so by ordering them online on Notts County's official website or call the Notts County ticket office. Season ticket holders and Lifeline members are given a priority for tickets for this game. 17. A great interview. Normally you can say talk is cheap but you look at the way he addresses the media. No smile, no shakyness. Pure emotion that he wants to do this job. I believe that if his actions are as good as his talk we will do exceptional.
  18. Fans were divided when Kevin Nolan was sacked as Notts County manager. Many fans believed he should have been given more time to turn things around at the club following a winless run of 6 games with many saying it is the players to blame as opposed to Nolan himself. But there were also fans suggesting it wasn't just the start of the season that was the tipping point it has been the clubs poor run of results since Christmas. Kevin Nolan guided Notts County to the Play-Offs last season, only to lose in the semi-finals to eventual Play-Off winners Coventry City. Following on from Kevin Nolan's sacking, vice-chairman Darren Fletcher has stepped down from his role. During an interview, Kevin Nolan suggested that he had the boards backing days before he was sacked and telling the media that he wanted to retain players from last season but was unable to do so due to making funds available to improve the squad. Alan Hardy then had an interview a few hours later stating it was a unanimous decision to sack Nolan following the defeat to Lincoln City. Since the sacking of Nolan, there was much speculation of who would be the next manager. Neal Ardley and Harry Kewell were the main names linked with taking over the reigns at the club. Fans gave their opinions on who it should be with many wanting Darren Ferguson or Gary Bowyer, with plenty of experience, to take charge of the club and hope to turn the clubs fortunes around. Harry Kewell became the front runner for the job but Crawley slapped a hefty price tag for Notts to pay to take him away from Crawley Town, which is speculated to be in the region of Β£400k. This put much doubt on Harry Kewell taking over, with reports suggesting that if Notts didn't want to meet the demands by Crawley they would then approach Neal Ardley. On August 31st, Harry Kewell was confirmed as the new manager of Notts County bringing Warren Feeney with him as assistant manager. There is no doubt that as a player Harry Kewell was one of the best players in the Premier League in the early 2000s as part of the 'Golden Generation' of Leeds United. It was his move to Liverpool that proved a downfall for his career following an injury prone stay at the Merseyside Club. Harry Kewell started his management career as head coach of Watfords under-21s team in 2015 but was sacked in 2017 following poor results. A month later, he became manager of League Two Crawley Town, his first taste as manager in league football. Kewell managed Crawley Town for 57 games boasting a win rate of 37.5%. But fans have had their say and many believe it could be a great appointment with his style of play, the record for a club with limited resources. Fans also point to last season when Notts played Crawley with how he sets up his sides. We all know how Harry Kewell was as a player, we have had a small view of how he is as a manager but only time will tell if he will succeed at a club that was predicted to be riding high at the start of the season. Rob Milsom has also rejoined Notts, coming with Kewell from Crawley, months after leaving Meadow Lane. But was this one of the players Nolan was hinting at that he wanted to keep from last season but had his hands tied as to the letting go? Is the reported Β£400k compensation pay too much to be spending on an inexperienced manager? The only thing that is for sure is, we need to give Kewell the backing he needs to make a success for this club. Let's hope he can turn the fortunes around and help the team progress and end the slump we've been on.
  19. Happy to hear this. It is much needed. Hopefully we can pull something off and get them players in.
  20. Absolute madness, should be given time to sort it out. If he don't get the results or change the squad after 10 or 15 games fair enough but it's far to early to be gone.
  21. Football is all about outscoring the opposition but the thing is we don't look like doing much. So we need to focus on being a solid defensive unit.
  22. 13 goals in 4 games. More defensive errors. Surely now the defence needs changing.
  23. Last minute. Again. 3 goals. Again. Defence needs changing once again easy goals for the opposition.
  24. I just don't get it, 10 goals conceded in 3 games and we make 1 change. A striker. Surely we should be changing the defence. Duffy needs dropping.
  25. Radio Nottingham had it spot on, Hewitt down after horrible challenge and no one is there complaining there is no leader in the team.
