  1. Newport's last league defeat was on December 23rd. They are in excellent form. They got to 2-2 against an almost full strength Man Utd in the FA Cup. Their style of play is perfectly suited to playing against us unfortunately. If they play well, I don't see us getting anything out of the game. We are not in a good place right now. We badly need a win.
  2. I'd happily settle for mid table if it meant SM and his system were fully bedded in for next season. We'll struggle to hit 50 points the way things are going. That may turn around later in the season. The last thing we need is more instability so SM is here for the foreseeable future so we should back him.
  3. Social Media is going to be busy tonight. There's a real danger that the season is going to fizzle out. We are so easy to play against.
  4. Tidy finish by Dan Crowley. Another assist for Jodi. Not the best defending for their equaliser. We should have been 2-0 up shortly before that.
  5. Gillingham haven't won in their last 3 games. They have only scored 3 goals. You couldn't blame them for looking forward to facing our defence but they will be in for a surprise. We are more solid at the back IMO. We badly need a win. Hopefully we get one.
  6. First, that pitch is awful. It prevented both sides from playing to their potential. Notts did enough to earn at least a point but didn't take their chances. Mansfield were their usual resilient selves and they will win promotion. I think we saw enough to be confident that Notts will push for a playoff spot.
  7. Mansfield deservedly beat us at ML. At full strength they are the best team in the division IMO. Luckily for us, they won't be at full strength but........this game may have come too soon for our new look squad. When the signings are bedded in, we should be a better side. Mansfield were robbed at Wimbledon last week. That's bound to give them extra motivation. They will play well against us, they always do.
  8. Barrow are a difficult side to break down. A point is a decent result. The defensive issues are still there but you can see how it will improve in time. An encouraging start.
  9. We drew 1-1 at their place. Notts had most of the possession but only 1 shot on target. You'd expect Notts to dominate possession at home. Barrow are a patient side and will wait for opportunities. I think Notts will be better defensively and that could be enough to secure a hard fought win.
  10. I don't see Notts conceding 5 at home. Stockport were never going to keep up the pace they were going at. The last few games are probably a better indicator of where they are at. They are probably the 3rd best team behind Mansfield and Wrexham. I think this will end in a high scoring draw. 3-3 is my guess.
  11. It was always going to be a difficult game. Tranmere are flying. The defending was poor. Stone could have done better for a couple of the goals but he did save a penalty. I think it's time to give Tiernan Brooks a chance.
  12. A very impressive performance. Best of the season so far? I think so. The adjustments LW has made are having a very positive impact.
  13. Stockport's confidence is sky high at the moment. They have been playing well. That 8-0 win against Sutton could easily have been 10 or 11. Notts have lost their way. There's a game plan but the players don't seem to have any confidence in it. I'd imagine a home win will be the first entry on many betting slips this weekend and you can understand why.
  14. It's hard not to think about relegation but I think we should be OK. Staying up is all I hoped for. Anything else is a bonus.
  15. No Plan B again. LW has a way of playing and it looks like he is sticking to it, even though every single team has worked out how to play against us. Stones is awful. Another error today. Our goal was a piece of individual brilliance. I honestly cannot see where the next point comes from.
  16. Every season, there's one team in League 2 that goes from promotion contender to fighting relegation. I hate to say it, but we fit that bill right now. It's plain as day that teams have figured us out yet there's no Plan B. New players aren't going to fix that. LW needs to adjust or we'll go into free fall and we all know what happens after that.
  17. A crucial 3 points. Notts responded well to going a goal down.
  18. Crawley are 6 points behind Notts with a game in hand. Like Notts, they are strong at home but weak on the road. They lost at Forest Green and Barrow in their last 2 away games. I think it will be a close game. Crawley will have learned from their FA Cup defeat. Notts really need to win or the wheels are in danger of coming off.
  19. Notts let their standards drop in the 2nd half. Bradford took advantage. Another 3 points is all that really matters so job done.
  20. Superb 1st half by Notts. 3-0 now. Langstaff bags a brace. If Notts keep going, this could be 4 or 5. Bradford look shell shocked.
  21. Great start. A well worked goal. Notts are well on top and need to take advantage of that because Bradford will get back into this at some stage. SKY just showed Jonathan Hammock's team talk. He was invited by LW to give the talk. Jonathan is no novice, he has done it before. https://youtu.be/ZFCrA1vnebk?si=-NmlwrnxIzfMPL-c
  22. A bizarre end to the game. The referee pulls a hamstring and is replaced. His replacement gives Crewe a penalty for handball and they win 1-0. Notts were always going to go through a bad patch and the injuries aren't helping so no need to panic.
  23. This was always going to be one of the tougher games in this division. Notts played very well on Tuesday. Wrexham showed grit and determination in their win. They may not be in full flow but they are a quality side. I think it will be a fierce battle. I just hope Notts have learned some lessons from the Mansfield game.
  24. Notts cruising to victory. Given the circumstances, this is will be a mighty impressive 3 points.
  25. Injuries and suspensions mean Notts won't be able to field their strongest side. Newport have drawn 7 of their 14 league games. They do concede goals. 5 in their last 2 games. You'd fancy Notts to take advantage and chalk up another home win.
