Match Discussion: Game 8 - The Ammies (A)
A well deserved 3 points. The Pies dominated the first half. Salford were looking dangerous before Crowley's goal. The Pies took control after that. The 2 red cards at the end were harsh IMO. The referee didn't have a good game.

Match Discussion: Game 8 - The Ammies (A)
Salford haven't won at home all season. Their manager was interviewed before their home loss to Walsall. He mentioned that they had injuries. He talked about the Pies as well. I got the feeling that Friday might be too soon for those injured players. It's a difficult game. Salford are going to finish in the top 10 IMO. I'd be happy with a point.
-
Match Discussion: Game 7 - The Dons (A)
The Pies deserved at least a draw. The response to going a goal down was fantastic. The Pies deserved all 3 points I reckon but we'll take a point against a decent side.

Match Discussion: Game 7 - The Dons (A)
I watched Crewe vs Fake Dons and it was educational. There was so much room down the wings for Crewe and the Fakes did nothing to stem the flow. Their left back was awful. Crewe pressed them around midfield and forced mistakes. The Fakes are a decent side but they don't do well under sustained pressure. It will be a tough game but LW will have seen what I saw. Opportunities will present themselves.

Match Discussion: Game 6 - The 'Owd Reds (H)
That was a test and the Pies passed with flying colours. Accrington made it difficult but there was no panic, just sticking to the game plan and making adjustments when needed. Langstaff took his goals well. The first one was superb. The way he worked a shooting opportunity in a tight space shows how good he is.

Match Discussion: Game 6 - The 'Owd Reds (H)
Accrington Stanley have adapted well to life in League 2. They will push for promotion IMO. They are unbeaten in their last 3 games, including a very impressive 2-1 win at Salford in their last game. The Pies are very strong at home so it should be a fascinating game to watch. I don't see The Pies losing. I think it will end in a draw.
-
Match Discussion: Game 5 - Super White Army (H)
The Pies never looked like losing this one but that late goal for Tranmere had me worried for a while. Great win.
-
Match Discussion: Game 5 - Super White Army (H)
Tranmere haven't had the best of starts. 1 win in 4 games. 19th in the table. They are better than their league position suggests. The Pies are strong at home and looked excellent last weekend. I reckon we'll have hit double figures in points by 5pm on Saturday. Assuming there isn't 25 minutes of added time.....
-
Match Discussion: Game 4 - Rovers (A)
Great win. County are finding their feet in League 2. Disappointing to concede a late goal but the 3 points are all that matter.
-
Match Discussion: Game 4 - Rovers (A)
This has banana skin written all over it. Doncaster were poor in their first two games but found their form in the draw against Mansfield. They did all the things that cause huge problems for Notts in defence. Another goal fest I reckon. Hopefully Notts come out the right side of it. I think there'll be 5 or 6 goals in this game.
-
Match Discussion: Game 3 - The Shrimps (A)
Let me get the rant out of the way first. You would think Morecambe would have shown a bit more ambition as the home side. They didn't even try to play attacking football. A point on the road is a decent result.
-
Match Discussion: Game 3 - The Shrimps (A)
Morecambe away on a Tuesday night in August is much better than Morecambe away in November. Morecambe won their opening home game 2-1 against Walsall. They were the better side for nearly all of the game. They were beat 3-0 at Mansfield. They could have taken the lead early but once Mansfield got going, they were unstoppable. Mansfield are a quality side. The Pies looked excellent going forward against Grimsby. The defence was better than it was at Sutton. I doubt this game will end 0-0. 2-2 draw I reckon.
-
Match Discussion: Game 2 - The Mariners (H)
A win is a win is a win. County games will not be boring this season. 4 goals scored. 7 conceded. Is there much improvement in the defence? That's the million dollar question.......
-
Match Discussion: Game 2 - The Mariners (H)
County aren't going to resolve all the defensive issues in a week but County are a difficult side to beat at ML. This could end up being a right old arm wrestle. Grimsby will make it hard for us. They'll be looking to exploit our weaknesses at set pieces and crosses. 2-2 draw I reckon.
-
Match Discussion: EFL Cup - The Imps (H)
That was a comprehensive 2-0 defeat. Lincoln should have scored 5 or 6. The defence is woeful. Either a change in formation or new personnel are required. A half decent defence is required in League 2. County don't have a half decent defence right now. We better hope that changes or it's going to be a long season.
-
Match Discussion: EFL Cup - The Imps (H)
Lincoln were thumped 3-0 at Bolton and like us, their fans are expecting a response. Both teams will make changes I reckon. I wonder if LW will change the formation. Lincoln play football which might suit County. Or maybe they'll decide to lump it long and hope to exploit County's glaring weaknesses at the back.
-
Match Discussion: Game 1 - The Us (A)
A sobering start on our return to League 2. Sutton exposed County at the back. I think LW will have to change formation, we'll be crucified most games if we stick with the current formation. Lots of hard work ahead for LW and the players. David McGoldrick will score 20 plus goals if he stays fit.
-
Match Discussion: Game 1 - The Us (A)
Sutton finished 14th last season. They lost some of their better players in the off season and they haven't looked good in pre season. They lost to Woking and Aldershot and didn't score a goal in either game. County are in a better place than Sutton. I fancy Notts to win this. 2-0.

Will you still follow the National League?
My cousin supports Barnet so I'll be keeping an eye on the NL. I hope Kidderminster do well.

Aaron Nemane
Saturday was the first time I've seen Aaron live. He gave a masterclass in wing play. My friend was telling his son to copy what Aaron does next time he has a game. I'm looking forward to seeing what Aaron can do in L2 next season.

Match Discussion: Play Off Final - The Spireites
What a day. I'm shattered physically and emotionally but I'm happy. To witness that game in person will stay with me forever. I also got a photo with my favourite director, Shane Meadows, Shane was as excited as I was! He was happy to come and say hello and chat for a few minutes.

Match Discussion: Play Off Semi-Final - The Wood (H)
What a roller coaster of emotion. 2 down at half time. Instant response. McDonnell saves a penalty. Baldwin rescues it at the death. 2 tired teams. Nemane makes a crucial clearance and right at the end, Jones wins it. Incredible. See ye at Wembley. I took advantage of the early bird offer, best decision I have made in a while!

Match Discussion: Play Off Semi-Final - The Wood (H)
https://www.borehamwoodfootballclub.co.uk/uncategorized/welcome-joe-mcdonnell/ I can imagine bow this conversation went. BW: We need an emergency goalkeeper. National League: Of course. Ask Wrexham for Ben Foster. We want you to have the best to beat Notts County. We need to keep them in the NL. BW: How about Joe McConnell? He's arguably the best keeper in the league. NL: Approved. We'll have a word with the officials as well. Something tells us ye are going to be celebrating Sunday afternoon......
-
Match Discussion: Play Off Semi-Final - The Wood (H)
Boreham Wood are difficult to play against. The officials are going to play a key part. If they stop Boreham Wood engaging in the dark arts, Notts will be half way to victory. Notts County are the better side but this a cup tie. Sunday can't come quickly enough.
-
Match Discussion: Game 45 - The Stones (A)
Maidstone are a poor side. It could have been 8-2. Notts have got to stop conceding sloppy goals.
