The Notts Technical Board.
I wonder if Richard Montague will return to ML? He left Swansea yesterday. I know some PL clubs were looking at him but I wouldn't be shocked to see Richard return to ML.

Gagliardi DoF leaves
The man talked a good game but that was about it really. His recruitment strategy was a head scratcher to say the least. I mean was Roos really the best option out there? I think we all know the answer to that one!

Trouble brewing across the river?
I'm surprised Forest have doors big enough to fit Marinakis's ego. Edu seems to be in charge of player recruitment and is close to the owner. Once Nuno questioned the recruitment, the writing was on the wall because the owner was always going to side with Edu. Nuno had an excellent relationship with the players and fans, their reaction will be worth watching.

Match Discussion: League Two - Fleetwood Town (A)
Fleetwood are one of those teams that will win the majority of their games against the weaker sides and are unpredictable against the better sides. They beat Barrow away in their last game. I expect a tough game today. The fungus from outer space is the unknown quantity. How will the surface hold up? A poor pitch will suit Fleetwood.

Match Discussion: EFL Trophy - Lincoln City (A)
We could have been level at half time. Another goal conceded from a corner. Lincoln took their chances. They have that extra bit of quality which you'd expect them to have.

Over Confidence Or?
I think the owners had players in mind and are sticking with them. Roos is a good example. I get that even if I don't agree with it. What I don't get is not pursuing cover for AJ and Dennis.

Match Discussion: League Two - Tranmere Rovers (A)
Jatta's flick was top class. If he stays, himself and Dennis will score plenty of goals.

Match Discussion: League Two - Tranmere Rovers (A)
Omani Patrick is on fire for Tranmere. I don't think we had a shot on target in the first half? Plenty of possession though. Just not doing anything with it.

Match Discussion: League Two - Tranmere Rovers (A)
I have a feeling that Tranmere will bully us. You can bet that they will bombard us with crosses. Hopefully we defend them better than last week. I think Jatta is resigned to staying with us until at least January. The best way to secure a move is to score a hat full of goals.

RIP Steve Thompson
Rest In Peace Steve. My condolences to Steve's family.

Match Discussion: League Two - Bromley FC (A)
Notts played well, especially in the first half. We don't deal very well with balls into the box. Roos doesn't come for them and our defenders don't win enough headers or we are second to the breaking ball. Dennis is finding his feet. He could fill the gap left by Jatta, permanently or temporarily......but we do need another striker. 4 points from 2 home games isn't bad but we have to start making up ground and quickly at that.

Match Discussion: League Two - Bromley FC (A)
This is our 11th game against Bromley. It doesn't feel like 11 games. Anyway.....we drew at home and beat them away last season. The 4-2 away win was one of our best results IMO. Bromley are unbeaten. 2 wins. 2 draws. They drew away at Shrewsbury. They are a decent side but I think we are a better side than them. Michael Cheek is a player I'd like to see at ML.

Weekly Chat - Monday 18th to Sunday 24th August
@CliftonMagpie I hope you get the job. I'm preparing for my trip to watch Ireland vs Japan in the Women's World Cup next Sunday in Northampton. I'm staying in London. I've never been to Northampton so I'm looking forward to that.

Match Discussion: League Two - Shrewsbury Town (A)
A vital 3 points. Of course it is early but I suspect it will be an incredibly tight promotion race so every point gained is priceless. I thought we were well in control at 2 nil and then a soft goal whichwas a body blow. Only a fantastic save kept us ahead at half time. The response in the 2nd half was exceptional. It is hugely encouraging. I'm delighted for MP.

Match Discussion: League Two - Shrewsbury Town (A)
Shrewsbury have picked up 1 point from their 3 games. They haven't scored in the league yet. They did manage a goal in their cup game away to Grimsby. This is a game between 2 sides who are low on confidence. I think Notts are under slightly more pressure as the expectations are that bit higher.
-
Who's to blame?
MP knew what the system was before he took over but it's clearly not working. He's got 1 hand tied behind his back. Give him the same role as SM and see what he can do. The technical group is a nonsense idea IMO. It immediately limited us in terms of who would be willing to join us. The owners need to bit the bullet and end the nonsense. Let MP manage and then we'll see what he can do.

Game 3: Match Discussion: The Bluebirds (A)
Hard to disagree with the above. We are more likely to finish in the bottom 10 than the top 10. Luckily there are 3 or 4 sides that are even worse than us so we won't be relegated.

Game 3: Match Discussion: The Bluebirds (A)
I missed their winner. I needed a wee ๐คฃ Awful first half. Better 2nd half. Platt and Luker off injured. Hopefully those aren't long term, we lack quality as it is. Any sign of that striker yet? Or a 90 minute performance? Answers on a postcard.....

Game 3: Match Discussion: The Bluebirds (A)
Tyler Walker. Des Walker's son. Barrow probably deserve to be in front. You'd expect a response from Notts in the second half. That's how it seems to go these days!

Game 3: Match Discussion: The Bluebirds (A)
Since our return to the FL, we have played Barrow 4 times and haven't beaten them. 1 loss. 3 draws. We have drawn both games at their place. Barrow haven't scored this season. 1 shot on target in 2 league games. They were a bit unlucky against Preston in the Cup. MK Dons beat them at their place but it took them 70 mins to break them down. Barrow are not an exciting side to watch. They adopt an Alamo style approach. They dig in and hope for the best. We have trouble scoring goals but 1 might well be enough to win the game. Barrow's style should suit us. It plays to our strengths. A 90 minute performance would be nice but 3 points are essential.

EFL Cup 1st Round: Match Discussion: The Latics (A)
When is Jatta back? That will solve a lot of our problems. Solving the mystery of why we can't put in a consistent 90 mins might be a tougher nut to crack.

EFL Cup 1st Round: Match Discussion: The Latics (A)
The penalty was soft but this is not an improvement on Saturday. Wigan aren't exactly world beaters. If Notts up their game, a win is most definitely on the cards.

Do you have a spare room? I quite like the look of your house and I need somewhere to stay when I come over for home games......I like a cup of tea in the evening, milk no sugar and a couple of chocolate digestives please.......๐คฃ

The Value of the Technical Board
I'm old school. Give me a manager who has control over the comings and goings. I feel a bit sorry for MP. I feel he has one hand behind his back. Anyway the reality is that the TB is in place and we just have to suck it up. By we, I mean I.......

Ryley Reynolds returns to Kidderminster
Riley came on as a sub on Saturday. He played 15 mins. He added an injection of energy in midfield. Kidderminster won 1 nil. Like us they have a lot of new players. Already you can see that they have a bit more grit about them this season.
