Crowd trouble at Derry City v Bohemians
Wrexham ultras are coming over to Ireland and teaming up with Bohs ultras. It's a regular occurrence across the country. They were trying to cause trouble in Cork where I live a few weeks back. Plenty of Welsh accents to be heard. They were intimidating locals in Derry on Friday night. They assaulted a 15 year kid who crossed their path. The leader of the Wrexham ultras is an MMA fighter. They come over here because they think Ireland is a soft touch and they are probably correct on that score but the PSNI sorted them out on Friday.

New keeper signs
An interesting signing. 33 years old. Played 40 games for Triestina who finished 16th in Serie C. Has played in England previously so that's a bonus. He has the experience but does he have the quality? We'll find out.

Weekly Chat - Monday 14th to Sunday 20th July
It's pouring rain here. I'm watching the Ladies Gaelic Football semi finals. Tomorrow my county Cork will contest the All Ireland hurling final against Tipperary. It's an age old rivalry. I'm confident that Cork will win.

Lewis Macari
First, I hope Lewis is getting all the support he requires. The FA are cracking down big time so I fear Lewis is facing a lengthy ban if found guilty. Going on previous cases, it will probably be 10 to 18 months. The hypocrisy of the FA is well discussed above but players know the rules.

Match Discussion: FC Kaiserslautern v Notts.
Luckily we won't face a better team than this in the league. Yes they were excellent but it was a friendly and some of their antics were questionable to say the least. Anyway we have a mountain of work ahead of us. We need at least 1 striker. A goal scorer. That would give us all a lift.

Match discussion: PSF - Darmstadt 98
I was curious. Fraser Hornby. Born in England. Played for Scotland at youth level. Valued at around 2m quid.

New shirt
I like it. Then again us Irish like most Green things! I might get it. I have the 150th anniversary shirt. It has the supporters names on it. Some of them are no longer with us so it has sentimental value. It's like they are there when I wear it.

New signing Barry Cotter
Barry has plenty of potential. He did well in his time in the League Of Ireland. His long throw is a serious weapon. He doesn't just launch and hope for the best. It's fairly accurate. It's a serious weapon to have in our locker. He has plenty of pace and bombs forward but I don't think he enjoys the defensive duties much! Wing back probably suits him best.

Trouble at Morecambe FC again
They are in real danger of going under. As Menzinho mentioned, the NL won't be much help. They are around since 1920 I think and they punched above their weight in their time in the EFL.

Can I get some stuff off of my chest about Notts?
We aren't promotion contenders as it stands. We have lost key players in key positions. The club has a big month ahead. We need quality. Full stop.

Bass has been sold to Posh for a 'substantial' fee
Bass is a big loss. It's going to be difficult to replace him. I just hope the club isn't sifting through the bargain bin of potential replacements. Quality needs to replace quality here. It's a pivotal position.

Carabao Cup draw, away at Wigan
We could be coming up against our old friend Mr. Mullin. Assuming he can pick himself off the floor.....if you know, you know!
-
Fixture release day
Barnet away is a relatively straight forward trip for me so that's one I'll be looking out for. I was thinking of Oldham away as well.

The Notts Technical Board.
My understanding is that a fellow Irishman was interviewed for the job and turned it down when he was told about the technical board. I doubt he was the only one.

Christopher Reedtz interview with BBC Radio Nottingham
As Chris pointed out, I think the owners were surprised at the reaction to the appointment of MP. They shouldn't have been. Personally I'm more concerned about the set up than MP. It is a recipe for disaster. I feel MP has one hand behind his back. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians comes to mind. I hope I'm wrong....
-
New head coach Martin Paterson
I presume the committee/group who are calling most of the shots will also be held to the same level of accountability as MP? You'd hope so. It feels like MP has one hand tied behind his back.....
-
New head coach Martin Paterson
No disrespect to MP, but he couldn't have been our first, second, third or 4th choice. The head coach role at Notts is limited. I couldn't see a high profile coach taking the reigns. I wish MP all the luck in the world. He's going to need it.

Heat Wave
As you may know, we Irish are obsessed with the weather. I'm glad I'm not in the UK. Chances are I'd die 🤣 It's very humid where I live. Sweating after trimming the hedge and cutting the grass. I'd take my shirt off but the judge said I can't do that anymore 🤣🤣

Weekly chat Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd June
I go to Cobh Ramblers games in the League Of Ireland. It's a nice place to visit. Even better when the sun is shining.

Maziar Kuhyar signs from Kiddy
This signing is more about squad depth I reckon. A one year deal and an option for one year makes sense given that this will be a big step up for him.
-
Ollie Norburn signs for Notts.
The only real question mark is fitness. Ollie ticks all of the other boxes. I'm happy!
-
What's Behind the Delay to Appoint a New Head Coach?
The limitations placed on the Head Coach role will shorten the list. Some coaches will want a larger degree of freedom. My 2 cents is that it will be a foreign coach as this approach is more European in nature.

pon and the new site
I like what Chris has done with the place. Seriously though, I'm very happy with the new format.
-
New signing Matthew Dennis
You might be onto something there. He's a coach. He's available. He is from the area, well Stoke, but that isn't a million miles from Nottingham. As for his record, he got MK Dons into the playoffs but Crawley smashed them. As for Carlisle, he probably doesn't want to discuss that.....
-
New signing Matthew Dennis
I think this signing confirms that we will be getting another coach. I'd much prefer a manager who picks his own players and has full control of how he wants to play. This experiment isn't going to end any time soon so we just have to suck it up. MD has potential. He did well under Mark Hughes. Hopefully we get the best out of him.
