  1. This is a great read, mate. I think you summed up everything very well. Jodi Jones is a different class at this level. We were so fortunate to land him in the National League. He helped us massively then, but since his contract and all the comments he’s made after, about wanting to get goals, you can see it in his play. Such a brilliant and exciting player to watch. His deal is more than just stability for him or just a three-year deal. It’s commitment and a sign that the club’s heading in the right direction. The fact he feels he needs to further repay the club shows his class off the field, and his actions on it prove how fortunate we are.

  2. You wouldn’t know that Matt Palmer prefers starting because he finds it harder to get into the game. He just goes about everything so smoothly and controlled. I think people mistake captains as being loud and in your face, but when you have someone calm and steady with their performance, they can encourage the players around them. It was great to see Palmer back. He’s had it tough while injured and he was missed. It’s fantastic to see him getting minutes. I look forward to him playing 90 minutes like he did before his injury. He’s that important to this team.

  3. It was pleasing to see Jodi Jones calmly convert the penalty. Their keeper almost got to it, but it was excellently placed by Jodi. The start can be like that; teams spring a surprise, and Bromley might feel they should have used the 2-0 lead more to their advantage. I don’t know, I feel it’s more frustrating to lead a game and lose it than to start on the back foot and impressively overturn it with a 4-2 victory. I have clips of the game and the highlights. Notts looked like they played some classy football.

  4. You have to love Jodi Jones. His attitude is spot on, and you can see the professionalism in his comments. What a quality signing he has been. His loan deal and eventual permanent signing have been great. The worry about him leaving now is quite similar to when he was a free agent, but time and time again, he has shown his commitment to Notts. I really think this deal is very promising, as it shows intent not only to retain players where we can but to create that spark to chase promotion.

  5. It is good to know that Notts County are helping such a talented young player to start his senior football career. It is nice to see him settle in at Meadow Lane. I hope he enjoys his season with us, as he looks set to make a big contribution to our push for a top finish. Spurs fans will hopefully be delighted to know that he is doing well and being taken care of.

  6. It was impressive to see how Notts continued to play despite Accrington Stanley's rough play. I think Accrington Stanley were lucky not to have received a red card. Stuart Maynard's management during the game and his choice of players were excellent. I hope this will lead to more support for the club. This is a good start for the club, and we can build on it. If we can bring back the togetherness we had during the promotion season from the National League, that would be even better. I think Stuart Maynard is very polite and focused, despite the negativity expressed towards him. This is the start we wanted, and we need to continue to believe in ourselves.

  7. He's before my time too, but I'm very familiar with the name Paul Devlin. He played for Notts for a decent amount of time, so I'm not surprised that he's well-liked and considered a club legend. I haven't seen him play, but I think this article gives a good insight into him as a player.

  8. Notts showed a different side to their game yesterday. It's important to be able to dig deep when results are important. Good teams can do that. Swindon Town played well. Defensively, we're looking much better under Stuart Maynard, and the new players have added much-needed defensive cover. When you can win while still performing well, but it might not be as entertaining, as David McGoldrick said, it's the win that matters.

  9. There are times when you wish David McGoldrick could do a bit more, but I don't question his effort. Considering his age and where he is in his career, we should take that into account. I hope he keeps going, as it's great to see him doing well. He performs better when he's not overplayed, but I think he did well yesterday, not just because of the goals. He looked eager and wanted to make an impact, and that's what we need.

  10. Lewis Macari always had something special about him, but I think he's improved a lot since he first arrived, and this season he's showing signs of settling into the role. That's what we need defensively: players who will make the position their own and fight to stay in the team. He wasn't afraid to go in against a physical Tranmere side on the opening day, and although I missed that at the time, having watched the full game since, I think he's been one of our best defenders so far this season. He looks perfect alongside Matty Platt and Jacob Bedeau. Those three have a good understanding of each other, and I hope with more game time, we'll see even more improvements from Macari.

  11. George Abbott looks like a very good signing for Notts. I like that we have our attacking options but are also signing more defensive-minded players. Winning the ball back and quickly passing it into areas where we can attack the opposition should help us create more chances. Since it's a season-long loan, we don't have to rush him until he's ready. I'm sure he'll make a solid impact on this Notts team. We're looking stronger than ever now.

  12. It's reassuring to know that the bids have been turned down. Keeping hold of Dan Crowley and Jodi Jones is very important. Every player has their price, but I remain hopeful that new contracts will be signed. Winning against Swindon Town and maintaining our strong start will boost our confidence. Aiming for promotion shows we are heading in the right direction, and it's crucial for players to enjoy their game, which we provide. Let's concentrate on achieving the results we need rather than worrying about losing players. If we get the results, they are likely to stay.

  13. On paper, and based on current form, I think Notts would be the favorites. However, anyone can beat anyone in League Two on any given day. It’s important for Notts to control the game, be creative, and be defensively solid. Swindon have some tall players who are good at set pieces, but I’m more confident knowing we have the calm Alex Bass in goal. It should be a very technical game where skill will make the difference.

  14. I was very sad when I heard he died. Sven-Göran Eriksson had a wonderful season at Notts. He helped bring in good players and lifted the club's profile. I think he woke up a lot of the sleeping fans. Hopefully, most have continued to support the club. This is just a small part of Sven's legacy at Notts.

  15. Seeing Macaulay Langstaff reach the record was something I might only witness once in a lifetime for Notts. It truly adds to the appreciation and respect that Tom Keetley’s name deserves. He must have been a brilliant player in his time, and his achievements at Doncaster are nothing to overlook either.

I hope Doncaster fans get a chance to read this article because players, even after they retire, can bring fans together, and the memory of that player continues to shine brightly.

  16. The Faces of PON is back! So pleased, as always, to see the pictures you take at games, @Chris. Everyone seems very much up for it, as you would expect. It’s good to see The Navi and The Nest being locations you visited. I bet the faces grew bigger as the game progressed. It’s good to have such a convincing performance. Well done, mate.

  17. This is a very good idea. It might not be for everyone, but no one needs to change their habits just for a print. It’s not for that reason; it’s to give back. I know this is something @Chris feels strongly about. It’s clear he cares about Notts and us fans, so I think it’s super cool that he’s gifting some of his work to fans. I hope those who end up winning appreciate it.
