  1. I wish Luke Williams keeps on introducing young players. We should aim to shape these players for first team roles. Teams like Crewe have done well in the past by knowing their needs, like a left winger. I believe we are about three seasons away from seeing a youth player take on a part-time role in our first team. We just need one player to pave the way and show it’s worthwhile.

  2. When we were relegated from League Two and he was available as a free agent, I had hoped he would return to Meadow Lane. I still believe he could have been a significant asset for us, serving as a mentor for others. The 09/10 season, up until the point he left for Derby, was one of the most enjoyable periods I’ve had supporting the club. It feels like those times now, but it’s easier to embrace because there’s no off-field drama.

  3. Sensible remarks from the Notts manager. I believe Luke Williams is aware that teams are still getting used to the league table and any one of them can hit a rough patch due to the schedule. In my view, AFC Wimbledon is a team we ought to defeat, but a squad’s strength alone doesn’t guarantee victories. Williams understands that we need to enter the match well-prepared to achieve the best result. I reckon he’s absolutely right.

  4. He’s been fantastic and we’re truly fortunate to have a player of his calibre here at Notts. Observing him both at home and away games, he has a unique bond with Meadow Lane where he flourishes due to the support. He’s been instrumental throughout the season in bringing out the best in his teammates. Success requires players who take pleasure in their football. I’m glad he’s content here, as I’m relishing his on-field performances.

  5. He performed brilliantly and would be my pick for Man of the Match. He’s similar to Matt Palmer in how he just gets on with the game. Dan Crowley was a handful for Bradford in the first half, and in the second half, he had moments of brilliance that opened up the play. However, everyone’s performance started to drop, which is natural when you’re leading 4-0. It’s more about concentration and game management.

  6. Notts are currently making history. With our owners, we’re taking big steps to awaken this sleeping giant of a club. Luke and his team of coaches, along with the players, are doing a fantastic job. We hope to commemorate our 5000th game with a strong showing. It won’t be easy, but if all the players put in the effort and create opportunities, I’m confident in what can be achieved.

  7. “Cutting out individual errors is point number one,” This statement is spot on. It’s not a big problem, but we do need to start maintaining more shutouts if we want to keep ourselves at the top. As long as we can secure victories and minimise losses or points dropped, there’s always a chance we can remain in the lead.

I believe part of the problem lies in our starting strategy. If John Bostock isn’t playing, we need to consider how that might affect our defence and ensure that everyone is working together. Good defending is crucial to winning games, regardless of how many goals we let in. Mistakes are bound to happen, this is League Two football after all, but I think Mark Stallard’s comment hits the mark.

  8. It was a bit annoying, but I must give credit to Colchester United as they managed to stay on top of the game. If John Bostock had been playing from the beginning, I don’t think they would have been able to apply as much pressure. But that’s just how it goes. On any other day, we would have come out on top. But we didn’t this time, and we just need to look back and get better. Our main focus should be on being consistent and staying alert while defending. We need to work together as a team, rather than as individuals.

  9. He’s a player who, I believe, lifted Notts’ game last season. His unique style and intense energy off the bench set him apart from our other players. This season, we haven’t seen the best of Sam Austin yet, but he’s performing well. I hope he gets more opportunities in the starting lineup. When he starts, he shows great potential. However, as a substitute, he seems to take a while to adjust to the game’s speed. His confidence is evident in his play, and I agree with his sentiments on its importance.

  10. There’s undoubtedly a belief that we have the potential to excel. Without explicitly stating it, if our growth continues, I don’t see why we couldn’t enjoy another successful season. However, there’s still a considerable journey ahead. Luke Williams is well aware of this and our aim is to maintain our form as best as we can. Winning matches instils a certain mindset within the team, which becomes second nature and almost instinctive. Therefore, by Williams taking each match as it comes, we remain grounded and able to concentrate on what truly matters.

  11. This is an excellent article, brilliantly penned by @TheSkipper. I believe Notts, under the Reedtz, has truly welcomed its fans. Winning games naturally brings joy, but we’ve demonstrated this season that even when the tide is against us, we continue to support our players and club wholeheartedly. The atmosphere at Sutton was testament to this; despite not seeming likely to gain anything, the fans were phenomenal. As @liampie drove us back, we all discussed the positivity of the support and how it inspired us to attend more away games. This trend has continued at home games and it’s simply remarkable. If Notts County wishes to expand its fanbase, this mutual relationship needs nurturing. The club has been fantastic and seeing Meadow Lane filled to capacity is truly heartening.

  12. The match was quite thrilling, typical of Notts. There were moments of suspense, and Forest Green deserves recognition for being the most challenging team we’ve faced at Meadow Lane so far. We might have games like this from time to time, where the opposition scores and supporters feel we could improve. However, the key is to keep our performance consistent. It was a brilliant victory!

  13. Jodi Jones is a fantastic footballer. Having him at Meadow Lane is beneficial. Luke Williams will recognise that he has a player of high quality in his team. However, the real stars will be players like Jones, who has an impressive football career. It’s great that he’s been selected by Malta. This not only gives another player an opportunity but also boosts Jodi’s morale. Representing your country can certainly add a spring to your step in the game.

  14. The concluding part is indeed poignant, when Adam discusses the loss of his father. It’s hard to fathom such an emotion, but it’s heartening to see him persevering and honouring his father’s memory. The 90s were a golden era for our supporters, a time before my own, but I am grateful to be witnessing a similar resurgence under Luke Williams. It appears that Adam made a wise decision all those years ago, and I wish him all the best. I hope his daughter finds as much joy in Notts as he did in his youth.
