  1. The results: Millwall 3-2 Southampton West Bromwich Albion 3-2 Swansea City Burton Albion 0-4 Leyton Orient Huddersfield Town 3-3 AFC Wimbledon Chesterfield 1-2 Swindon Town Walsall 3-1 Bromley Forest Green Rovers 2-1 Southend United Yeovil Town 2-1 Boston United Well done to @4everapie and @magpiejue, who both hit double figures this round! Overall, @4everapie has now moved into a five-point lead at the top while yours truly surges into a glorious 18th place. There's no prediction league on Saturday as Leagues One and Two are taking part in a new-fangled competition called "the second round of the FA Cup" (no, I haven't heard of it either). But there will be a round the Tuesday after, so keep your eyes peeled for the fixtures here at the weekend. Thanks for playing everyone 🙂
  2. Fingers crossed you'll get good news @Fan of Big Tone. And that you heal up well! I've been away from here as I've had my own hands full with medical stuff. My own problem hasn't got any better after two months. I've now been referred to the university hospital to see a specialist and hopefully get a diagnosis. Trouble is, the clinic doesn't answer the phone - I've called them 21 times without any success. When I complained about it at the main number the operator said, "ha, some people are trying for weeks". Amid all the fun of chasing appointments and taking useless medication, I had time to buy a new hoover on Friday, one of those cordless ones. They don't quite have the raw power of the old ones but you can't beat the convenience.
  3. Millwall 2-1 Southampton West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Swansea City Burton Albion 1-0 Leyton Orient Huddersfield Town 2-0 AFC Wimbledon Chesterfield 1-0 Swindon Town Walsall 2-1 Bromley Forest Green Rovers 2-0 Southend United (joker) Yeovil Town 1-1 Boston United
  4. Right you lot, here are some more fixtures. Post your predictions by 3pm on Saturday and remember your joker. Good luck! Millwall v Southampton West Bromwich Albion v Swansea City Burton Albion v Leyton Orient Huddersfield Town v AFC Wimbledon Chesterfield v Swindon Town Walsall v Bromley Forest Green Rovers v Southend United Yeovil Town v Boston United
  5. The results: Derby County 2-3 Watford Ipswich Town 0-0 Wrexham Bolton Wanderers 0-0 Bradford City Mansfield Town 1-3 Huddersfield Town Crawley Town 1-1 Accrington Stanley Crewe Alexandra 3-3 Chesterfield Eastleigh 0-2 Hartlepool United Morecambe 0-0 Yeovil Town In a tricky round, well done to our winner @super_ram, who nailed his joker. Incidentally, it was his team who messed up my joker by failing to hold on to a two-goal lead. There is truly no justice in this world 😉 In our leaderboard, @4everapie remains top, with all the top four staying unchanged and @super_ram the big mover this week... That's us done for another week, I'll post next Saturday's fixtures on Wednesday as usual. Thanks for playing and have a good week!
  6. Colchester have a habit of playing well against us. Whether they'll challenge further up the table remains to be seen, but they looked useful yesterday. They got a bit of luck with their first goal, but they made the most of it and it was a well-earned win for them. We started brightly but I felt we eased off after going ahead and handed the initiative to Colchester. After that it was a question of scoring against a very deep and compact opponent, which is tricky at the best of times. In the last couple of seasons we've become reliant on Jones and McGoldrick to unlock the door for us, and without them the end product is a bit lacking. Add to that the constant mistakes in goal and we're dropping points in winnable games.
  7. Isn't that what they put in caipirinha?
  8. Derby County 2-0 Watford (joker) Ipswich Town 1-1 Wrexham Bolton Wanderers 2-1 Bradford City Mansfield Town 1-0 Huddersfield Town Crawley Town 2-1 Accrington Stanley Crewe Alexandra 0-2 Chesterfield Eastleigh 0-1 Hartlepool United Morecambe 2-1 Yeovil Town
  9. As Mahatma Ghandi once said, "a man is but the product of his thoughts. What he predicts, becomes his points total in the PON prediction league" (or something like that). So here we are - if you wish to play, send in your predictions by 3pm on Saturday and remember your joker. Good luck! Derby County v Watford Ipswich Town v Wrexham Bolton Wanderers v Bradford City Mansfield Town v Huddersfield Town Crawley Town v Accrington Stanley Crewe Alexandra v Chesterfield Eastleigh v Hartlepool United Morecambe v Yeovil Town
  10. The results: Burton Albion 1-0 Blackpool Luton Town 0-0 Rotherham United Accrington Stanley 3-1 Bristol Rovers Cambridge United 0-0 Barnet Grimsby Town 0-1 Chesterfield Braintree Town 2-0 Truro City Hartlepool United 1-1 Wealdstone Woking 1-1 Boston United Congrats to this week's winner @Dan! Points were a bit sparse in general this week, with several of you scoring nul points or narrowly avoiding it... We have movement at the top! @4everapie claims top spot for the first time, while @Dan joins the top three. Please keep a place at the top warm for when I buck my ideas up! That's your lot for this round. I'll post Saturday's fixtures at some point on Wednesday. Till then - take care and tschüß!
  11. Agreed @Piethagoram, that's probably what happened. The shirt certainly looks like it was intended to be worn during matches, with the current badge and sponsor on it. It looks like this will join the 2009-10 Vandanel shirt (the one Munto ditched for Nike) in the ranks of "Notts shirts that never were". Not one I find appealing, but maybe a curiosity in years to come.
  12. That isn't good news - apart from the smell of the unwashed masses in their tacky red shirts, there's a risk of aggro with the new fan zone and the Nest being so close together. Right in front of our club offices and the Jimmy statue. I assume the new fan zone will be used by home fans, and the Nest by away fans?
  13. It's all been rather disappointing. I also think there's a good player in there if he's given time, but right now he's behind Tsuroulla and Kouhyar in the pecking order, justifiably so in my opinion. It looks like he's going to be a victim of poor squad planning in the summer. I can see him returning to Barnsley soon, them paying up his contract and him reappearing at another L2 club in the very near future. That depends on whether there's anything to communicate at this stage. It seems likely that Cotter will go back, but that doesn't mean he already has.
  14. That was a bit of a hard watch. Even in the second half, when we showed more urgency, we barely tested their goalkeeper at all. It's always difficult when the opposition is as compact as Harrogate were, but of all the crosses we put into their box, we were first to very few of them. As for the penalty, I thought Jarvis played for it at first, but on viewing the replay the Harrogate player had his hand on his back (and must have been pushing, otherwise he wouldn't have gone down with him). I missed the big handball shout on PiesPlayer and they didn't show a replay, so i can't comment on that. Jatta, Hall and Tsuroulla had a quiet day. I thought Bennetts did OK, but nobody was really attacking his crosses. If Grant had taken his early chance first time instead of taking an extra touch, it could have been a very different game. Harrogate deserved to take something from that game simply because of the spirit they showed with their backs to the wall, but from our point of view that game was winnable. At least we rescued a point.
