  1. The problem at Sheffield Wednesday is that some of the latest kits are being cloned and copied. On match days, you’ll see more fake shirts than retro ones. Our fans are quite divided on the matter. There’s no doubt it takes money away from the club’s coffers. https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/topic/323664-fake-shirts/
  2. What a great win! Keep flying high, Magpies. You are looking very good. I have been watching your highlights, and when your team performs well, they are unstoppable. There were some good signs against Tranmere, on top of those two excellent goals. I am pleased for you!
  3. Luke Williams looks like a superb upcoming manager. He’s a lot better than half of the rubbish I have seen in League One and the Championship. Hold onto him for a few more years, and you will have yourself the next big manager in football. I truly wish you long-term success. Great victory against Tranmere Rovers.
  4. Good luck in your final home friendly against Forest. Take pride in knowing that you don't have to pay £150,000,000 to survive the drop and that team spirit from promotion is better than that of survival. At the end of the day, the result won't matter unless you win. Go earn those bragging rights, County!
  5. Our owner has claimed that he let Darren Moore go because Moore wanted four times the salary he was previously earning.. https://www.itv.com/news/calendar/2023-06-29/wednesday-owner-claims-moore-demanded-four-times-his-salary At first, all of us were shocked by the owner’s decision. Some still don’t believe this is the real reason, but Darren Moore has had little to say on the subject. There are rumours that Moore intentionally asked for more money or to be released from his contract in the hope that a bigger club would show interest in him. It may have been due to wages and budget, but I think Sheffield Wednesday as a club needs to come before anything else. Now that he has left, we move on. I hope for Moore’s sake that he finds a club where he can take them further. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12915569/sheffield-wednesday-owner-rants-over-darren-moore-sacking-and-criticizes-club-legend-carlton-palmer
  6. Speaking of UK coffee places, they vary in quality and taste. My favourite is Costa Coffee and their Caramel Latte is delicious. There are many other coffee places in the UK that offer great drinks and atmosphere. Some popular chains include Starbucks, Caffè Nero, and Pret A Manger. Each has its own unique style and menu offerings. In addition to the chains, there are also many independent coffee shops that offer a more local and unique experience. Whether you prefer a classic espresso or a flavoured latte, there’s something for everyone in the UK’s coffee scene.
  7. Notts County could’ve asked Sheffield Wednesday for help. We would come in numbers and sell out your end. Stoke City fans are flaky and not the best away support.
  8. It’s difficult to see teams struggling, but hopefully the issue can be corrected with careful management or a takeover. It doesn’t sound like a very happy club if six directors have resigned from their positions and fans are being asked to help with wages. I hope for their sake they resolve it.
  9. As a Sheffield Wednesday fan, I’m curious to know how confident Notts County supporters are feeling about their club gaining back-to-back promotions. With a strong squad on paper and the addition of Will Randall, it seems like your club is in a great position. Are you all still feeling the magic from Wembley?
  10. Thank you everyone for your kind words. Adapting to the Championship will be a challenge, but I believe our squad is stronger now than when we went down. I fancy Notts County’s chances of finishing 2nd again. Good luck in League Two chaps and lasses!
  11. I want to thank you for your kind words and support for my team, who faced a tough challenge against Barnsley in the League One playoff final. Barnsley were a formidable opponent and gave us a hard time throughout the match. They deserved to be in the final and I respect them for their performance. But I’m over the moon that Sheffield Wednesday managed to edge them out with a late goal and secure promotion to the Championship. It was a tense and exciting game, similar to the one Notts County had, and I’m glad we both came out on top. Well done to both teams and their fans for making it a memorable season! PS. Best wishes to you next season, @super_ram.
  12. I am delighted that Notts prevailed and managed to win on penalties. As a neutral observer, I don’t believe either team defended particularly well. Chesterfield may feel unfortunate not to have won at the end of normal time, but I thought that over the course of the 90 minutes, Notts had more possession. Notts were caught out on the break, but as I said, I am pleased that they have made their return to the Football League. @super_ram No disrespect intended, @super_ram, but I don’t believe you are quite ready to return to the Championship just yet. Another season at League One level should see you up there by the end of that season. Best wishes to you as well.
  13. It's regrettable that Jackie Sewell's true brilliance isn't more widely acknowledged. He was a remarkable footballer who shone alongside one of England's finest ever strikers, Tommy Lawton. Sewell enjoyed an outstanding career and it's a pity that he's frequently forgotten. In my opinion, people don't remember just how talented he was.
  14. Jackie Sewell was a classy striker who played for both Sheffield Wednesday and Notts County before your time. According to Wikipedia, he scored a total of 228 career goals, including 97 for Notts County and 87 for Sheffield Wednesday. That’s an impressive record for any striker! @AmericanPie https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackie_Sewell
  15. Hi there Magpie fans, I just wanted to stop by and send my best wishes for your efforts to return to the Football League. Given your impressive form this season, I don’t believe Notts should miss out on promotion. I’m hoping you’ll be able to make that long-awaited return. As a fan of Wednesday, I have many fond memories of Meadow Lane and Notts County. I hope you all succeed in gaining promotion to League Two. By the way, Macaulay Langstaff seems like an excellent striker. Wishing Notts all the best for their game against Boreham Wood on Sunday!
  16. Good luck on Saturday against Stevenage Magpie fans. I will be keeping a look out for your score, hopefully Saturday you bag your first league win and then things won't look so bad. There's a long way to go, keep fighting and stay positive.
