  1. The fact that his move to Notts makes his personal life easier is a great bonus. A happy player is a productive player. Wishing him all the best!
  2. It’s clear that O’Brien has a lot of respect for Luke Williams and his coaching staff. It sounds like they’ve created a great environment at the club.
  3. It feels like the last 4 years have been some ride; that’s for certain. The thing about dreams is that eventually they end and I don’t think with the stewardship we have right now that failure is something the club will know. The recruitment makes a big difference.
  4. It’s very good news that he has agreed to a 2-year deal. I think he will form a great partnership with whoever plays at the back this season and prove we are much stronger going forward.
  5. Jim is a good player and I would rather see him retire on his own terms than allow some of the mindless people who supposedly support Notts to drive him out. I guarantee that Jim knows he’s supported by the majority of fans. As previously said, his fitness levels are insane and if he continues to push himself, why not give us another year? He can think about retirement at the end of the season. He’s got a job to do now and I want to see him give his all as he always does.
  6. Well said, @Chris. I think your dad is a real shining light for the community. His friendly comments and wit are something that brightens up conversations. @super, don’t be so modest. People here appreciate you. Thanks for all you have done to help PON.
  7. It will be a tough game for Malta. I bet Jodi is excited about playing against some of the world’s best. I can imagine he and his teammates will try to close the space England finds. He may do more defending than attacking, but I am wishing he gets to have a good run out regardless.
  8. Tony sounds like a true Notts fan. I also hope we can make a return to League One, but I am happy just to see the club building in the right way. That will eventually lead to success. It’s a good story, this one. Well done, Tony.
  9. This is a brilliant story of a fan’s background and history of supporting Notts. He’s right, some fans are fickle, but many are superb and have backed this club all the way. Some just like to moan a bit too much; it’s more about their character. Great story.
  10. Seeing Jim extend his stay is a blessing; imagine if we lost both him and Ruben? While some might not be disappointed with the latter, he is by all means an important squad member.
  11. I like the style and approach Jodi Jones brings to his performance. He has ability and knows what he can or can’t do. He can absorb the pressure. It’s a good video clip of his contributions to Malta.
  12. They have signed a cracking player who can give them an edge in League One. I think Oxford will be in the running for the playoffs, maybe upper mid-table, but Ruben now has the chance to push on with his career. I just hope they don’t end up selling him for a silly fee, as we have clearly lost out.
  13. I am disappointed that he has left for Oxford United. It’s not the biggest step up and I would have thought we could push for promotion. In the end, it should all work out. Ruben Rodrigues has been a vital player for Notts and that is something he will have left behind.
  14. We’ll have to wait and see how things go, won’t we? Just because I haven’t heard of him or most of the people who replied doesn’t mean he doesn’t have talent.
  15. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. You will see PON is a very good website.
  16. Welcome to PON, @Bigrossco1862. It would be nice if you would introduce yourself to us?
  17. It’s always great to see one of our own representing their country. Good luck to Jodi and Malta!
  18. It's nice to be saying, hello @Stuart jackson. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham.
  19. It’s great seeing so many members engaging with the community. The post goal reaching green so many times is really wholesome to see! It’s nothing short of great. Thank you for all your efforts, @Chris.
  20. The Saudi League isn’t all that special. I have seen games and it’s amazing how easily the likes of Ronaldo manage to find the net. It’s not a very entertaining league and it will only be ruined by throwing silly money at players at the wrong end of their careers.
  21. I hope that Boreham Wood will be promoted next season as they fully deserve it more than Chesterfield. It would also be great to see Woking make it to the playoff final. As for Chesterfield, they can remain in the National League. They have never risen above League One and their fans are known for their rowdy behaviour during nights out. It would bring me great satisfaction to see them reach the top, only to falter and lose in the final once again.
  22. Notts County has achieved a great feat by securing the services of Sam Slocombe, as he could have easily signed for another club. He's an astonishing goalkeeper and an indispensable player for the team, his contributions on the pitch are invaluable. In addition to his skills as a player, Sam is also an admirable person and a leader both on and off the pitch. The fact that he has signed a new contract with the club is a testament to his worth and commitment to Notts County. I am elated that he will be staying with us and I have no doubt that he will continue to play a crucial role in our future success.
  23. The Non League years have seen Notts reshape their identity after losing it in the season we were relegated. A team that could barely defend, took us down with zero pride and little responsibility for failing to do it. As for the owner at the time, I wish not to speak of that fool.
  24. This is a dream come true for me. Jodi Jones is my favourite player and I’m so glad he’s staying with us for two more years. He’s a magician on the wing and he always makes things happen. He’s got a great attitude and a great personality and he fits in well with the squad and the fans. He’s one of us and we love him. Welcome home Jodi!
  25. In my opinion, Aaron Nemane was outstanding at Wembley. He’s been a consistently strong performer for most of the season. Of course, every player has their off days and it’s only natural that he would have a few bad games - that’s just part and parcel of playing at this level. I’m really hoping that he decides to extend his stay with us because it would mean that we have some solid cover on the right. If Jodi Jones also signs with us, then we should be in a good position out wide.
